How to stop brakes from squeaking?

Done a fair amount of searching on the forum for a fix. I have a 21 with less than 2k miles on it and my brakes squeak so bad. I've cleaned them out really good and it stops it for a few hours, but goes back to squeaking very fast.

Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes without going back to the dealership?

You just got the truck, take it back to the dealer. Guessing the pins did not get lubricated when they truck was built.

What do you mean, you cleaned them out? You’re not physically spraying or putting anything on the pad material themselves huh?

I'd say either one of your pads is missing a shim from the factory (not sure how that would happen) or the pins are dry. Every brake squeal problem I've run into has been missing or crappy shims. Regardless take it back to the dealer. It's under warranty

Did you ever get this resolved? My 2020 does the same thing, when first backing out of the garage. Looks bad to the neighbors.

My 2016 with 80k miles does it after sitting for the night. Within one or two stops it quits. I also make sure to spray the calipers out well when I wash, seems to help?

Not good! Like I said, looks bad to the neighbors when the brand new Tundra sounds like a hooptie backing out of the driveway!

My 2014 with 158K does this too when backing out. So annoying. Only happens once.

haven't resolved it. look like a tool in front of the neighbors for sure. $50k+ truck, 3,000 miles and it sounds stupid.

I know the feeling. I often leave early 3-4am and the sound just travels all over the neighborhood. A real crappy feeling.

Has anyone had this problem, upgraded brakes, and rotors and it has stopped? Are they just shit parts that come stock?

no they are not crap parts. I would not replace brakes on a brand new truck because they make noise. Dealer will take care of it under warranty. It really is that simple.

I've had it in twice. They've deglazed the pads and lubed moving parts. No change.

Have a 2020 with about 9k miles, never heard one squeak from the brakes. Should be something the dealer can fix on a new truck.

2-3k miles on the brand new truck- the solution is to have the dealer fix it

OP said dealer deglazed pad and greased pins- issue still there

Brand new truck under warranty- dealer needs to fix it. If they need to replace the calipers, rotors and pads to fix it, then they will need to do what it takes.
The truck has a warranty for this kind of issue. NO ONE should feel like they have to replace parts to chase issues on a brand new 50K truck, well unless maybe they purchased a Ram. :boink:

The only thing I may suggest that OP can do yourself is bed in the brakes. Noise can come from uneven material transfer from pad to rotor. Bedding in the brakes will burn that off and if done correctly could stop the noise. But again, OP should not have to deal with any of that on a new truck.

Not worth taking it in, dealing with the service people, being w/o the truck, etc. Guess I’ll just live with it. Like everyone has said, it goes away as soon as you leave the driveway.

Yeah I don’t trip too much. The noise sucks for 5 seconds a day but my truck is badass and definitely better than any of my neighbors trucks.

I just replaced pads and rotors on my fiancee's mazda 3 in 2019, and now there's a constant grinding/rubbing sound persisting no matter how much I grease the slide pins, or anti-seize on the pad guides, etc. Took it to the mechanic and they stated that if the car's been sitting a lot outside (which it has) then the pitting on the rotors could be to blame. It's basically unavoidable if it sits a lot, and you would need new rotors to fix it; which is only a temporary fix!

That being said, there's a video about the Tundra platform circling this forum citing that if you're in the rust belt, you should lube the front caliper guide pins every year. Makes me wonder if the dealer actually did that for the OP or not.
