Ive given this alot of thought and until people are held accountable I dont see it improving. Driving out here has gotten harder over the years. Im 47 and plan on retiring at 65. My mentor retired last year and before leaving he handed me a set of 4 million mile knobs. Guy had retired with 4 million safe miles. I plan on taking these knobs 2 more million miles for a total of 4 million accident free miles myself. Time will tell........

Best I can tell you all as drivers is if it dont feel safe it isnt!
@1lowlife hit the nail on the head. Stay home! Thats the only thing that guarantees your safety.
I haul cryogenics to most of your states. 99% of it is for medical use. Chances are if you've had an MRI in the last 10 years theres a good possibility I hauled it for you. :D

I ve always had a feeling like that, but my thought is everyone should spend a few weeks in prison, though either way, the point is made.

Well lets hope you can appreciate the fact that you chose to go to prison for five years. No doubt you learned a lot.

I wasn't assigning blame to the big trucks, just pointing out that they are in the mix and they require a lot more space & respect from other drivers in situations like this.

I don't see it improving either..
I'm amazed at how many highway info and exit signs are run over these days.
Used to be a rare thing to see, now it's commonplace..

I have no idea how many miles I have..
    I run 480 a day, 2400 a week, minus vacation weeks that's about 110,400 a year.
20 years ago some of us where given 1 million safe miles belt buckles.
    I sold mine on eBay..

If I can make it 2 more months I'll have 30 years safe driving, although it took 35 years to get it..:eek2:
When I was approaching 25 years safe driving, a big company milestone, I didn't really care that much about it.
But talking to others driver's in the "Circle of Honor" they told me it was an accomplishment I should be proud of.
So I embraced it a little bit.

Company used to give out gifts for years of service and safe driving.
I've got a nice Delta chop saw in the garage, that was one of them.
But that when to sh!t when the company went public.
A lot of things about my place of employment went to sh!t when they went public.
Although I'm blessed to have this job and have it for so long.
Certainly can't complain about my pay and benefits..

I'm 58 and hope to retire at 62 or 65..
