It happens. I’ve corrected so many things on my truck from Goofy Mechanics in the past. This forum has helped me too.

Regarding refilling my radiator after the timing belt job - I always thought mixing coolant with distilled water was the way to go. Now I'm reading its soft water, what's the word here?

I would just use the valvoline or xerex pre mix for Asian vehicles. If you want to mix something else, use distilled water. There is a newer Prestone for all vehicles which will also work fine - provided you thoroughly flush out the pink first.

Yeah. That Valvoline ‘Zerex’ from WalterWurld is the best priced 50/50 Mix. A no brainer.

It costs less than the ‘Zerex’ Brand and is the same formulae. Both meet/exceed Japanese Spec.

5 years is the life, but with Older Vehicles its best to change early and often so for me its 3 years max.

Our Trucks need the Phosphate Portion in the Asian Coolant juice to offset the bad Mojo between the Aluminum Head and lower Iron Block Dielectric Ying and Yang.

Im finished. Did you guys wait 24 hours to let the silicone gasket dry? Its been a couple hours and I want to add the coolant and see if it turns on right. I know it says to wait 24 hours on the permatex tube but...

Hey guys I started it up great but after about 20 min it started sputtering and turned off on its own. Not throwing any codes yet.

I can turn it back on but it only stays on for about a min then dies again

I'm not sure yet. I read somewhere that when you disconnect the negative cable you reset the throttle body and if its gummed up with carbon (mine was) it baselines it and treats it as if it's clean. I just cleaned it and put it back in so let's see what happens..

Clean the MAF and TB really good. Probably should take TB off truck to clean if you haven't already. then unplug battery again for a bit and try again.

If you haven’t already, you could buy a new MAF Sensor for about $55 from Hitachi (OEM). Mine was out of Spec at 170k miles and Cleaning doesn’t fix that.

Mine worked well before. Not sure if disconnecting it would tweak it but thanks for the suggestion.

Only way to tell is by using a MultiMeter Device and comparing it to the FSM Specs.

Cleaning the TB seems to have worked. I had it idling for about 25 min and drove 10 miles. All good. Thank you all for your help.
