So I noticed that about a year ago the stitching on my passenger seat began to pull out. Of course I ignored it as it was so small. Now look at what I have on my hands. Any sewing subject matter experts on here that can give me tips on how to repair this? I've purchased curved sewing needles to try sewing the original red string back through but I dont think that's a permanent solution. Any help is appreciated. By the way its located on the back rest.

I would just cut it and hit it with a lighter to sear the end

Might want to pull the leather off that headrest, thread the loose thread through to the back, and tie it off in a knot. Then put the headrest back on and you should be good.

I was thinking of that. Its located on the back rest though, and from watching online videos, It's tough to get back there.

It’s likely gonna be a chore removing it, but that’s probably the only way to fix it once and for all

So because this was sewed in a fashion where when when you pull the string it unravels, I ended up taking your guy’s advice and just glueing in place. I also used a curved needle to take the loose end and tuck under and up the “P”. We’ll see how it holds up. This option was much easier and cheaper that getting behind the leather. See picture. The white dot is the freshly dried crazy glue.
