Thanks man. I've had that plate on a few cars over the years.

Any word or resolution to your ac controls? Kinda curious about this.
    Thanks

With work and kids, it was hard to remember to call. Every time I would remember, it would be too late or on a weekend.

Luckily, I saw via email that you had posted and immediately called. I had to leave a message with the service manager. He hasn't called back yet. Hoping he gets back to me today.

My septic tank backed up yesterday, so I may have to go home and deal with that. That may give me some time OTW home to call again.
I'll update with whatever I find out.

I got an early birthday present Saturday from the wife.

Leather steering wheel!!! Going from the wife's 4runner limited with the leather steering wheel back to my truck, I could tell a huge difference in the quality and feel of the cheap feeling SR5 steering wheel.

FYI, The splines on the two steering wheels are NOT in the same place which clocks the wheel different, so an alignment to straighten the wheel is in order.
Luckily, I paid for the lifetime alignment at Firestone.

I dropped off my horizontal trim pieces with a friend to get some hydrographics done. Just something small to break up the bland interior a little bit.

Haven't heard from the dealer about the manual controls. Guess I'll call them when I get a chance.

Ordered some switches from OBA for the air compressor and train horn. The kids started going back to school this week, so I will actually get a Friday to myself again. It's been a long time.

Where are you mounting your compressor and horns? I will probably go with the spare tire delete mount on mine. Hornblasters is local to me here in Tampa.

I have a 2 gallon tank that I've been running since 2008 and I have a 4 gallon tank that I'd like to use. My previous Tundra didn't have the 38 gallon tank, so placement was easy. I think I found a spot under the bed opposite the tank, but I need to slide them in there and see how much room is available. If I can get the 4 gallon in there, I'll go with it.
Horns will go behind the front bumper like my last set up.

Well, I didn't get to work on the layout of the Train horn, because we had an issue with the Septic tank. I spent the whole morning Friday digging up the access door and finding a blockage between the cleanout and the septic tank.
Maybe I'll have time this Friday...

My switches came in for the air compressor and horn switch. The way I wire it up, the switch acts as the ground for the air valve. When activated, the steering wheel horn will honk the OEM horn and the train horn, but if I turn the switch off, only the OEM horn is activated.

[IMG]20210205_150503 by Robert Stewart, on Flickr

Also, I called Toyota again and left a message AGAIN about the manual HVAC controls. No callback yet. Maybe I'll just make a trip over there and ask in person.

There was some snow that came through Saturday night, so we went to the Cherohala Skyway to play in it yesterday.
I took the Jeep. Figured I would share here.

I finally had some time Friday to start on the air compressor install.
I'll be using this for the train horn as well as the air bags and air supply if needed.

With the 38 Gallon fuel tank, there wasn't a lot of places to put a 2 gallon tank, much less the 4 gallon that I wanted to use. I found a place under the front of the bed that ended up being perfect. I will have to order a remote hookup for the air supply, so I won't have to get under the truck to hook it up. I'll most likely get 2. One for each side of the truck.

It's hard to see where I mounted it, but the driveshaft will move up and down between the two.

I got the tank and compressor mounted. The horns and valve install will have to be this Friday. I had to order air lines, because what I had was too short. Figured I would do it all at once.

Obligatory ESP storage bin under the back seat. This should have been factory...

Amazingly, I had some time this weekend to work on the truck.

    Got the horns installed Friday.

[IMG]20210221_182117 by Robert Stewart, on Flickr

All the air lines and fittings arrived on Saturday.
Got the electrical and air lines ran yesterday.
One of the switches that I received from OBA did not fit the hole.
I'll send a picture to them and see what they say about it.
Also, there was another hiccup. I have fitted air line fittings at each side of the truck for airing up tires, but the push fittings I ordered from Amazon all were leaking. I'll have to order some better quality fittings and go from there. I blocked off that port.

    The horn is operational!

Sorry there aren't more photos. I'll take more pictures when everything is final.

I washed the truck Saturday, but didn't drive it yesterday. Today it's raining... ugh...

I just completed moving the radio USB from under the HVAC controls to inside the center console. Didn't really take any pictures, but if you want to do this, Go to Casey's build thread Here

I purchased all the things he did and everything worked perfectly.

I did not. Kinda in limbo at the moment. Keep calling the Toyota dealership, but they never call me back.
I'll end up going over there one day and cornering them about it.

Sorry about that for those that are waiting to hear if it can be done. Sometimes I procrastinate about certain things.

I can't leave well enough alone. I have a friend that does hydro-graphics and I end up getting a little something done to every one of my cars just to break up the plain look.
I had him do the mid trim in the dash.

    It's almost too glossy! LOL

Previously I've got carbon and they've all turned out nice, but carbon look on a truck just wouldn't look right and I wanted to switch it up a little.

Looks great but for me.... too glossy. That being said, I’m not there nor my truck. I’m afraid of the glare here in the bright/sunny hot ass state of Tx.
Not throwing shade by any means...the graphics look awesome

Yeah. It's a bit glossy. He asked if I wanted matte, but I was afraid some of the detail would get lost in the matte. Didn't think some of the detail would get lost in the gloss. HAHA!

Nice! I just ordered the chrome delete kit for interior this morning. Probably going to get rid of all the silver around the radio too if I can find something. I hear there are some radio upgrades that give you wireless (Bluetooth) CarPlay too so didn’t get the radio nob replacements.

Did you have someone do that storage bin for you or did you do it yourself? I’ve seen others do the same. Was wondering if you have exact dimensions on how to build?

The storage bin is ordered from HERE When you get it, the template is on the outside of the box it comes in. You just trim the box, then lay it over your floor foam and cut. (I cut the foam with a drywall saw after cutting the carpet with a razor)

Posted this in the daily thread. Figured I would post it here for timeline.

Found a set of the bed rails shipped for $166. Figured I wasn't going to find them any cheaper, so I ordered them.

Finally found an AVS rear glass ventshade. I had one of these on my 2013.
It allows me to roll down the rear glass a little on these hot days and not worry about a rain shower.
Don't much care for the side window ventshades, so this does the trick well.
As you can see, it doesn't fit perfect, but i'm ok with that.
