Yeah I just called CBI and surprisingly they answered the question. Should be coming out in about 6 months. So now I'm torn, order one today and get it sooner or wait the 6 months for the new hybrid bumper?.....

A little bit of info for folks that plan on doing 5 tire rotations, like me:

A few miles after performing my first 5 tire rotation, my TPMS light started flashing, and then came on solid. When checking tire pressures
through the multifunction display, no pressures were shown. I tried using the TPMS button located on the right lower dash area in front of
the driver, using both Initialization mode and Registration modes with no luck.

I ordered a new OEM sensor, and installed it in my now right rear wheel(only wheel with no sensor). Started the engine, and tapped the
TPMS button 3 times in less than one second, thereby entering Registration mode, confirmed by TPMS light flashing, then staying solid.
Left work, and within a mile TPMS light had gone out, and within 2 miles was now correctly displaying tire pressures.
**FYI** According to Toyota if you put the vehicle in reverse it may take it out of Registration mode.

That's a tough call. I'm very pleased with the one I went with, but I'd also be very pleased with the hybrid. I wouldn't be able to
convince you one way or the other, as I really like both.

Yeah, I've been going back and forth with what looks best. I got another response from CBI yesterday saying the new hybrid bumper should be on the website within the next week so I will wait for pricing to make my final decision. BMC and new wheels and tires are ready to go now just waiting on a bumper and sliders.

I work in a Toyota dealer service department and we do a pretty decent amount of lifts.

I had a set of new take-off leaf spring packs from a 21’ Tacoma that sparked a little curiosity. I’m currently running stock leaf pack, with 2” lift shackles. I’m determined to work with them until my truck reaches its final form(rear bumper with dual swing-arms with spare tire carrier).

On my tacoma rear suspension went: old man emu standard > + ome extra leaf > ome heavy > dobinsons super heavy(better ride than factory).

I want to only buy leaf springs one time....

I measured the taco leaves, then tundra leaves. Same width, different lengths and thicknesses. I was able to take one of the thinner leaves from the taco pack remove a couple inches off each end, swap the plastic leaf pads, and install on my truck only needing longer center pins and new u-bolts.

I don’t have a scientific way to measure spring rate but, with the springs arched upward I could apply 280lbs(my weight) to the perch area and compress them 2-2.5” individually. With equal weight on both, I could compress them 1-1.5” eyeballed.

installed on the truck, I gained a little height (little more arch in the spring pack), and ride is great. I’m attributing the ride to the leaf thickness.

Mixing and matching leaves is not new to truck builds or off roading, but definitely doesn’t seem to be as common as it once was.

Finally made a decision and went with the full hoop CBI bumper after enough digging around. It was your video that drove my choice so I appreciate the inspiration.

    thats a nice truck!

I just recently purchased my first truck. I have a 2021 black sr5 trail edition and have been overwhelmed on how many different paths to take when upgrading the suspension and tires (that dont rub).

I was looking at the OME bp51 setup but was also curious on the non resi suspension kit from OME. Looking into overlanding the truck and as a daily.

    Thanks!

The BP-51s are definitely awesome. I never ran them on my personal vehicle. I've got OME nitrochargers on my 86' 4runner(since 2013), my 07' FJ Cruiser had 150k on an OME kit, my 16' Tacoma had 150k miles on a mostly OME kit(rear springs were Dobinsons) and had such great service out of all of them I went OME again. If I were in UT,NM, AZ or somewhere else where I could off road at higher speeds more consistently, I'd probably look at something with remote reservoirs, but east coast the durability of the nitrocharger is more important than shock fade. They also ride well.

I'm always impressed with the bed space on this truck compared to the tacoma. With the Tacoma, on long trips with the fam, it took planning to fit everything.
On the Tundra its not an issue.

I had the ExpeditionEssentials TPAM in my Tacoma and loved it. Recently they released the Tundra version, so I jumped on it.

Install was simple and smooth. This mounting solution is incredibly stable. Mounting radios,
    ipad, phone...whatever...it's rock solid.

So far, so good. When I decide which route I want to go on a winch, I'll be swapping them out though.

Good to know! I am about install the 612's and will likely be getting a bumper next but no winch so I am hoping the 612 will be sufficient!
