    I bought my truck with 6112s on it. I still plan to put Kings on. If I had a stock tundra I would skip the 6112s and just do kings.

    Not sure at this point.
    Well, I’m going to assume that coming out of stock suspensions, everything will feel so much better. lol

    Are you running 2-1 shims with CB shackles as well?

    Man that’s definitely my ideal route, however, probably would do Fox since Kings will rust in the Northeast due to the salts during winter. Unless if anyone in the Northeast running Kings have some magic trick that will deter rust buildup.

    Yes I have CB +3 shackles in the rear. I didn’t need shims up front since my truck was not showing any lean.

    My truck is a BIG FAT PIG. Mine is setup for expedition. 37's Steel bumpers front and rear, swingout with full sized spare. Canopy, RTT, 24 gallons water, 10 gallons gas, 12k winch, steel skids, recovery and camping gear, ammo, hi-lift, shovels, axe, decked drawers.... you name it. Fully loaded for trip with wife and dog its 9,000lbs (CAT done a month ago)

    I run the 4.88s, live in Seattle have been great all around. Mountain passes no issues, I take trips down to Southwest / Death valley area 1-2 x year and spend time in desert, slickrock, etc. snow in NW winters etc etc. Gears great on and offroad from my experience. BUT I re-geared before it had anything more than a canopy so no comparisons

    My truck is mostly stock as far as weight is concerned. And on 37s with no computer corrections it says 11.7mpg. I will track at the next fill how much I am really getting but 6.5 mpg is really low.

    I get 9 mpg ish from the computer (hypertech adjusted) on byways, in the 8s when driving though windy Nevada roads

    BRUTAL with only the 26 gallon tank.

    I could use this groups expertise on something.

    My Truck:
    2012 with BDS 7inch lift
    Coachbuilder Steering kit
    Icon 2.5 coilovers with remote res... currently they are adjusted down to about a 4 inch lift due to sag in rear (heavy, modified truck)
    I am about to put on new rear leafs (custom Alcans to get back to true 7" and will be able to crank the front coilovers to get 2-3 inches of lift back in the front.

    I have been running 37s on 20 x 9 +1 with no issues.
    yesterday I tested a 17 x 8.5 +15 with 37s and the tire is terribly close to the end link (pics attached)

    Do you think when I crank the coilovers adn get the lift increased 2-3 inches in the front if it would have better clearance of the end link?

    I am worried that the FN wheels with 17 x 8.5 with +18 or 25mm offset won't work

    Any thoughts? I just emailed David at Ekstrom for his opinion but wanted some other feedback as well.

    I don’t have that type of lift or experience with it but from reading on the forum it sounds like with the lift kits that’s are ~6-7” they have trouble with a 17” wheel due to a different design on the steering (among other things).

    That’s pretty close! Adjusting the preload on your coilovers won’t give more clearance, it might change the angle of the CB tie rod end slightly is all.
    With that BDS lift you need to run the heim joint on top of the spindle instead of below it like OE. Looks like that’s what’s causing your clearance issues.
    I would probably go with 0 offset if you plan on running 17” wheels.

    Actually the heim is on top of the lower knuckle mount and still that close. I'm going to re-check by putting the suspension in full droop to see if the angle of the CB tie rod changes (Coachbuilder thinks it will enough to clear).
    He did also recommend going with 0 or -10 offset if I go with 17's so to be safe I'm likely going to go that route.

    Yeah man, your heim is on top of the spindle/knuckle in the pic. That’s the reason it’s so close.
    Here’s mine, TC long travel and the CB steering kit with 37’s and 0 offset Methods. Mounted on the bottom like OE.

    Oh the subtle differences between the many ways to stuff 37s under our trucks. I learn something new every day on here!
    To your point, the BDS lift includes custom steering knuckles and the CB Heims are supposed to mount on top of aftermarket / custom. Regardless, looks like i'm now going to go with 0 or -10 offset 17s. I'm just glad I tested it before committing to buy $1,200 in wheels that wouldn't:annoyed: fit

    I have 6112s on top setting, total chaos UCA, and sway bar delete. Running method 702s 17x8.5 wrapped in Milestar Patagonia M/T 37x12.5r17. I really like it but it took substantial trimming to not rub. BMC, Pinch Weld, Front Bumper, and Engine Skid all needed trimming. I think I am running about the lowest lift you possibly can and fit 37s without rubbing at full lock. On the trail and aired down is a different story. Still rub but it’s mostly on the upper fender which is going to get trimmed next.

    I really like them, they have about 1k miles on them so we will see how they hold up. But they were one of the cheapest 37” MT you can buy and so far I like them far better then my 33” ridge grapplers that I had on previously. But I don’t know how much that has to do with the fact that 37s absorb bumps a little better and they are not worn down like my old ones. Road nose is noticeable but I consider it pleasant.

    They cost my right about $1200 for a set of 4 after instal and taxes. (Still need to get two spares :anonymous:)

    Absolutely correct. A friend of mine had a BDS bracket lift with spindles and had to mount the heims on top just like yours. He ended up running 20” wheels which I think helped with the clearance issue.
    Definitely nice you got to test fit those before dropping the coin on them.

    Yeah I'm running Fuel Throttle 20's right now and have no issues at all. I just want to drop down to 17s, I just like the look better and in the mood for changing her look a little.

    how about some 18's ? only 5% difference on sidewalls vs 17's but gives you a bit more clearance for brakes/spindles.

    Advanced Fiberglass and I installed the fenders and bedsides myself. Rattle canned the front fenders, will probably do the same to the bedsides.
    My buddy Alex came up with this simple intake solution. It’s just some HPS tube and an aluminum sleeve on the end so it doesn’t collapse under WOT. Got it from Amazon.
