Unfortunately with everything going on (covid shut downs, semi-conductor shortage, weather related power issues etc.) I think it is out of the dealer's hands. As things slow down at the manufacturing plant their backlog grows and pushes dates out exponentially.
But, it will be worth the wait. Hang in there!

I ordered mine first week of February, and its scheduled to arrive March 15th. I wanted to get a 21 Pro before they change them next year.

Me too.... i'm on my 3rd Tundra right now (which were preceded by 3 Tacomas) and I have no desire for the next gen. I'll take simple and bulletproof over new tech any day. In early Feb I found a local dealer with an existing CM TRD Pro allocation with a March 12 build date. They were able to change the color to white for me and add the accessories I wanted. Dealer said to expect delivery first week in April. I left a deposit for a purchase at MSRP. First time i've ever paid anywhere near sticker price.

I ordered mine in MGM. Got everything exactly as I wanted it, but I also had to pay full sticker. This is the first time I've every paid full MSRP for a vehicle as well, but I feel like it was warranted.

I'm overjoyed at having found this one...

I had placed a request with my dealer a little over a month ago for the DC version. Just as they got the allocation, I decided I wanted the CM. They really bent over backwards to find me this. Not only did I get this Tuesday, but basically 2 months sooner than I expected for the one I ordered to come in. Happens another dealer had a display at the Speedway and they pulled it from there for me. Said they traded the MGM Pro they had coming in for it.
It ended up being a great deal and I got a bunch of things included with the truck. This my first Tundra after having a Silverado and F-150 and I am excited. Also saw like 5 others online at nearby dealers coming in, so Toyota must be catching up on production to have that many along with the DC I wanted all coming in.

The air times are terrible for a 4Runner also. Went shopping for a 2021 TRD Off Road 4Runner and the cost is about $10K higher than the Supra on the floor and they were getting 3 of them within the next 2-3 months. Crazy

I wonder how long this year they'll keep taking allocation orders before they switch to the 2022 model. With long lead times I'm sure the opportunity dwindles with every passing month. Just got mine ordered so will keep y'all posted.

All I know my local dealer who I deal with most of the time. Same salesman I checked with him recently because he could not get me LunaRock pro. He told me his manager is not able to allocate any from Toyota. And they usually are able to get them all the time. He said he would have to put me in for a 2022. I told him no thank you.

2022 "full" production is September, part of the factory has already changed tooling, so it'll probably produce until the end of July/Beginning of August if nothing is changing.

Well - my deposit is in.

    Lunar Green CM

In the end - I was torn on color, then I realized there will not be any non Pro's in this series with lunar green exterior - and just a single year of current gen pros with it - so went that route.

I wanted a DC - but dealer only was able to secure a CM - so said go for it. Id rather pay an extra 3k in sticker than chance funding a reasonably priced used.

Who knows when/if I get it - but at least my order is in. They are cautiously optimistic about getting one. Talked to another dealer who has a white CM due in next month supposedly not spoken for - but sales manager is out till later this week.

They are supposed to call me when SM is back in office...if its confirmed available and I dint wind up making a deal on that one/dropping my deposit - I'll share that here with as much detail as I can.

I had my dealer swap the tires as part of the deal. No way I was driving it off with those Michelin's

Did they charge you any difference in the tires? Just curious. Thanks.

Yes, they gave me $100 credit per tire for the Michelin's. So I paid a little over $500 for the BFG's. This is the best riding truck I've ever owned.

When I had mine built in 2017 I ordered feb 5th and took delivery April 27
That of course was well before COVID so not sure what the wait time would be now
On a side note I’ve tried ordering a RAV4 Trd in Luna rock and Toyota won’t even take my order they say it’s region locked to the west coast and I’m on the east coast
That’s the first I’ve ever heard of anything like that
    Good luck

i "ordered" mine 2/17 against a local dealer's existing allocation which had a projected 3/12 build date. Just got a confirmation that the truck was built on-schedule and now i'm waiting for delivery.... probably another 2 weeks.

Wanted to update you all on my experience, had a red DC (SR5 TSS) allotment order placed at the end of February and they told me no problem, they would get the truck....well after about 2 months they couldn't guarantee my color, so it seems that the configurations are getting really really slim on what's available before the 2022 model starts to take factory priority. I drove out of state and bought the trim I wanted (SR5 off-road) in my second preferred color. Good luck out there.

Ordered my '21 DC PRO back in October and my current build date is 4/10, but it's changed 3 times, so not holding my breath. Getting close, dealer told me three weeks to take delivery after build. In total, about an 8-month process!

Is it possible this is more a DC issue than an overall supply issue ?

I've had no problems finding CMs - some at stupid ask prices - but zero DC.

Sucks as I prefer the DC, but guess I will have to live with a shorter bed and bigger cab and a sunroof.

Yeah I think so, I was also picky on my colors, I didn't want black or grey which definitely limited my options. Most colors aren't available anymore on toyotas website for the DC.

I honestly had no idea how lucky I got with my lunar rock DC until I started paying attention to the forums. I decided I wanted this truck in August, put down a deposit with a dealer in SLC in September and got really antsy when I was told 6-8 weeks. A fellow forum member let me know he saw one at a different SLC dealer one morning in early October, and I drove it home that same day. I'm so curious how many other lunar rock DC made it through the line. It's my dream truck. Fingers crossed for ya!

Had to do my own promo shots on the flats side they left the DC out

Around here the DCs seem to be available and even discounted. I’m swapping out my 2019 DC for a 2021 and it was discounted $2,000. Pretty much everything else is MSRP.
