For sure! We actually have reviewed the XB headlights with both the OEM Halogen and the OEM LED headlights on a wall and measured the output, feel free to take a look! I timestamped the link so it should bring you right to the comparison section of the video.

Perfect. That's what I wanted to see. I just knew that the TRS video didn't have the OEM LEDs in there. Appreciate the link and the content.

Caleb, aren't the OEM housings led reflectors as the XB's are projectors? Wouldn't that make a slight difference in terms of output performance?

That is correct! The OEM LEDs are a reflector type, which is the reason for the more corrupted beam pattern on the roads compared to a good projector setup. The XB projectors do show a direct effect on the output compared to the OEM LEDs, the XBs are able to better focus that hotspot where you want it rather than a reflector where there isn't as much of a pin-point focus. This in return created a better output on the Low beams for the XB LEDs! The major benefit of the XBs is the ability their projectors give your beam pattern. Rather than just a couple hotspots on the road to drive with, you're given a broad sweep of lighting in your beam pattern that really helps evenly light up the full road and off to the sides of the ditch. At a distance on the roads is really where this feature is noticed.

The High beams are another story though. The OEM LEDs have more surface area and space to fit more LEDs into the reflectors compared to being fitted into an XB Bi-LED projector. Since there are 3 separate LED projectors in the XB LED headlights, there isn't as many LEDs in there to produce the amount of raw output that a reflector OEM LED housing would. The Tundra has the best OEM LED housings we've tested to this day out of all other vehicles we've had in, they are real workhorses! :)

I mean... I could probably set one up is TRS allows it :)

Once these get closer to release I'll do some rooting around and see their appetite for it.

As much as I LOVED doing group buys in the past, we can't do them on these headlights unfortunately due to MAP pricing, we have to keep it fair for everyone else. I'm sure we'll have some killer XB deals this year though.

Well at least you killed my buzz nice and early. I forgot that new policy that dropped this year!

I honestly do think the new one is healthier to the sales ecosystem overall though.

I would love to hook our Tundra homies up if I could, but sadly it's not my call to do so! I agree, I love the new layout and think everyone benefits from it! :)
