I made an adapter plate for the stock brake controller spot, and then moved those switches to the left.

i bought a used one with a SC. It was clearly taken care of, but zero issues so far.

Have a TRD supercharger with whatever intake came with the kit. What is everyone using for a replacement air filter? Apparently they do not make the TRD one anymore.

I too purchased a used one with stellar maintenance history...I have zero regrets on its reliability.

I have the TRD airbox and just purchased a TRD air filter...if not available, I'd consider the AFE dry filter and be done...

Something to add to this thread, my supercharger was getting loud a few months ago so I reached out to Superchargers Online (Magnuson had recommended I buy parts from them prior, and I had learned they rebuild blowers) so I sent mine to them. It was $1250 iirc for the blower to be torn down, new bearings and fluid and coupler and cleaned and all that jazz, and then they run it on a test rig to make sure it's working. It turned out mine had somehow ingested something (a bolt, a rock, who knows) and had caused the rotors to become mis-timed so they were running into each other which is why it had become so loud, and sounded like a bearing had failed due to the rotors being pushed apart when the FOD went through the rotors. It was another $1600 iirc for new rotors from Eaton. I also sent in my injectors and they cleaned and flow tested them too. All in was ~$2850 and that was to get the most extensive "maintenance" possible and effectively getting a brand new supercharger (minus housing) back.

So in regards to actual supercharger maintenance, which regularly should be non-existent besides maybe new oil every 100k, $3000 is effectively the maximum cost one can expect to replace everything. If your rotors didn't have a critical failure like mine, it'd be ~$1250 to have someone service everything and make it cherry. $1250 every 5-10 years to get your $8000 supercharger freshened up seemed like a good deal to me, and Superchargers Online were super cool about everything.

Is the air filter for the generic trd intake or is it different for the SC?

@Warreng, just a regular TRD air filter...it came oiled and I cleaned it most of the way off and reinstalled...it's doing well and my intake tube is still clean and not collecting debris over 10k miles...I shake it out every oil change...

My brother in-law just blew up
His motor. 2015 w 150,000 miles. He had a larger magnusson blower on it. I’m sure he was always pushing it though.

Do you know specifics of what failed? What tune and fuel system was he running? Does he closely monitor his afr and temperatures?

My experience with K&N filters on the taconite ships (Cat gens) they do not filter out the fine dust all that well, they are very free flowing and basically just keep the large particles out. One other thing I'm not impressed with is the fit, as seen in picture. 20210215_204945.jpg
And that was after stretching a bit.

Hey guys, just wanted to let ya know that I have just picked up a tundra that is all original and has had a SC since it has left the showroom in 2012. It currently has 375,000km on it and is running as if she has just left the showroom. The original owner is my boss and has religiously and meticulously done all of the services. He used it as his daily and to pull around his toy hauler/camper. I believe with the same care and the condition that it is currently in, I will get to 500 without any problems

I have a 2012 cm with dealer installed sc that has under 90k smokes like a freight train and burns a sh!t load of oil, undrivable!
L.o.f. every 5,000 miles with premium synthetic oil.
Not sure what happened to it, haven't taken it apart to find out yet.

The only issues I have had with mine are.
    1. I had to install an Eaton posi rearend as every time I stepped on the gas I spin the tires and the lsd would kick the brakes in
    2. I’m on my third TRD fuel pump

    TRD supercharger
I would buy a new one but Toyota no longer offers them in Canada with the supercharger option and full warranty so I keep driving it

Not sure I understand your question? I love the truck, quick, powerful, easily able to pull my horse trailer with 3 horses in it. And it will outrun most sports cars. I’m just pissed at Toyota from take the option to buy a new one away from me. My supercharger needs a service, tempted to buy a replacement with a smaller pulley. Can never have too much horsepower lol.

I think you plan a big bottom-end build? I am also considering this, done it on some of my late-model muscle cars, just not sure it is worth it on a 2011 truck?...

It's like $1200 to have the supercharger fully refurbished, or you can do it yourself. There's no need to buy a new one, it's just a couple bearings and worst case the rotors are destroyed (unlikely) and then it's another $1200, long shot from buying another one most likely. I would also recommend one of the fuel pump options from URD if you keep having issues with your pump, I have an aeromotive pump in mine and have 30k+ miles on it in the past year and a half.

    Hello All...

I was looking at Magnuson website.... It does not show a SC for +19 Tundra's yet. Really would like to do this on my 21 PRO. Is everyone's think that this is available with Magnuson for +19 Tundra?

If i didn't read well enough above... tell me to go read more!:(

They may not support the most recent model years because they're not able to tune the ECUs just yet. I imagine that they will in time though.
