    Yes,
Remove the business card holder, then the surrounding part around the card holder (they both remove with clips, takes a little bit or force). There are 2 torx screws there and two in the sunglass pocket. It comes right down. The sunglass pocket screws you have to come in at a slight angle, but not bad.

I read in the thread that people had issues with using the stock gps antenna. Anyone else have feedback for this and what adapter do I need to buy to connect it?

    Thanks!

I had this issue with the adapter and used the GPS antenna that came with the radio. Mounted it in the center speaker area.

in case anyone is wondering, screen mirroring only works on Samsung phones, i got this response from Kenwood:
"I understand you are inquiring about the DMX1037S. With the mirroing casting feature I'm sorry to say that NONE of the Google Pixel phones offer that feature. That feature is only on the Samsung S 8, 9, 10 phones and the Samsung Note 8, 9, 10 phones. Not all phones offer that feature. "

Did anyone bypass the stock amp? I'm looking at the specs for the stock amp compared to the dmx1057xr and I think it would probably sound better with the dmx1057xr amp. If so I am interested in if there is a bypass cable available or if you had to make one?

Crutchfield suggests the 3.5mm RCA cable pictured above for the install. The idatalink wiring harness has an AV input to connect it to and it connects to the connector on the back of the radio outlined with the red arrow above. I'm not sure if this will activate the aux in or not?

That is the only audio input on the headunit. It's in audio/video input, you just have to make sure that whatever 3.5 you use has the audio contacts in the correct order. Not all will work.

Another thing I noticed is that the setup for my RR2 didn't give any option for climate controls. Is that normal to not have them on the Tundra (limited with lcd climate readouts)

I did build an amp bypass connector to bypass the stock non jbl amp. I have to say the sound quality is incredible even with the stock speakers. I will probably still upgrade them but will be more than happy with it until I do.

I am having one issue. I programmed my steering wheel controls for volume+ and volume- on single press and hold. When I hold the volume down button the volume will run down normally. However if I hold the volume up it only works from 0 to 15 volume level. It stops when it hits 15 and I can only single press to increase the volume higher. Am I missing something?

That’s the HU. Pretty sure it’s a safety feature so you don’t accidentally blow your speakers or ear drums.

I located my mic at the top console where the factory mic was. I am using android auto to make calls and I had one person say they had a hard time understanding me. I called a friend and he said it sounded ok. I left myself a voicemail so I could hear it for myself and it definitely wasn't the best quality I have heard from a handsfree phone. It sounded washed out and hollow. I see there are some mic adjustments in the menus. I'll try and see if I can make it sound better. Anyone else experience this? Maybe I should reposition my mic. It is pointing straight down into the slits on the console.

I bought the plug and play amp harness from autoharness on Amazon. Worked great and sounds much better without the factory amp. This is a must if replacing the door speakers with components as the factory amp has built in crossovers

I just called the wife while driving on the freeway and messed with the settings until she said it sounded better. I still haven't heard myself, but everyone seems to think it sounds fine now.

anyone remember if there's an option on the maestro RR if there's an option for when you hold down the volume up button if it will continuously increase the volume? I didn't enable anything for holding volume up, and i miss just being able to hold the up button and letting it rip.

Were you calling using the phone dialer built into the kenwood or using carplay or android auto? I didn't see any settings I could tweak in android auto.

I can't remember but I believe it doesn't make a difference if you just click settings when in Android Auto you still should be able to adjust all settings

Ok I'll check it out and see if I can find something to adjust. The other thing I can try is temporarily removing the mic from the console to see if that makes a difference.

It is a limitation of the Kenwood units (safety don't blow speakers or ears). Not adjustable with Maestro (I asked them directly before reading the response I got here)

Switching from BT to Speakerphone in android auto sounds better but it is using the mic on the phone not the kenwood one. It's very possible my mic placement isn't good.
