Bouncing back and forth between this kit and a cheaper 3” toytec level kit...is anyone running the 2.5” toytec/eibach suspension setup? Would love to see how the stance is and some feedback on ride quality. Thanks kindly

Check out Dobinsons for a cost-effective but well-performing third option.

Will check it out, although I’m in Canada so the shipping and US $ conversion would be pretty steep.

I just installed the Eibach kit and I love the stance and the ride, not soft at all but not harsh. I didn't go through Toytec as the assembly and shipping costs threw me off so I put my own kit together. Mine is an Eibach kit set to 2.5" with coachbuilder shims up top to give me 3", JBA UCAs and Toytech shackles in the rear set to 1". I also bought new KYB strut mounts from Rockauto for about $40 so I didn't have to disassemble my old struts. Turned out exactly the way I wanted and I couldn't be happier.

285/70/18 Nitto RG, I was going to go with 295s but I didn’t think that 1/4” difference was worth the extra 10 lbs a tire.

I put mine on about a year ago, no complaints other than chasing a creak sound in one right now. I think it rides rough at slower speeds on rough terrain/roads, but soaks up bumps nicely over about 20 mph. Most of my rough ride is likely due to E rated tires on 20” wheels.

I am running 2.5” toytec/ eibach kit. First impression was the exact stance I was looking for. Once it settled I was a little unhappy with stance. Ride quality was great. After it settled I ended up with a .5” driver side lean and it drove me nuts. Recently I added 2 coach builder shims to driver side and 1 shim to passenger side and installed JBA upper control arms. It is now less than 1/4 inch side to side in the front with a full tank of gas and the UCA’s have made a HUGE difference. To save you some time I would personally add atleast one shim to driver side initially. Just my 2 cents but I like the ride quality personally.

first pic is just with coil overs/settled
Second pic is after shims/UCA- pic on sloped driveway FYI
    Good luck on decision

Thanks bud!, looks pretty good I may get a shim in the driver side as you mentioned, how long did it take to fully settle? Also how big of shims did you use? 1/4”?..and what size tires? Cheers

Thanks I’m happy with it. I would do truck exactly the same if I did it again. I’d say I noticed it within a couple of weeks. I also experienced a slight rub on driver side body mount. I never felt it rub I could just see the dirt was wiped off of it. I’m running 275/70/18 toyo at3 with scs wheels that are 9 wide with a +25 offset. I let it be for about 3 months before adding shims and upper control arms. They are 1/4” but per geometry of how they work each shim will add 1/2” of lift. FYI I did not have any lean stock. Everyone says every truck is different so I thought I would not have it, but I did.

If you can make it work with budget go this route over a spacer. I’ve had spacers on trucks before and you will be a lot happier with this. It’s worth the few extra hundred dollars up front.

If I remember right I believe coach builder shims are $18 each and I experienced good customer service and fast shipping from them.:cheers:

Lol your setup is almost identical to what I’m getting, got the 275 toyo AT3s lined up with 18x9 KMC Mesa +25 offset wheels and going with the same toytec/eibach kit, do you have any front view tire poke pictures? Also how do you like the Toyos?

Sweet. I did a lot of research before going with this suspension, wheel, tire set up and I think it turned out great, how it sits now. Remember though I have (2 shims driver and 1 passenger) other than that it’s identical. This is the best pic I have from front as of now and it was taken on a old flip phone that my dad sent to me after truck was done. So not the best picture but best front shot I have.

I like the toyos as it’s my first all terrain I ever owned. Always ran mud terrains or TSL’s. Guess I’m growing out of that stage lol. Hope this helps:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Toytec Tune BCS / Eibach 2.5” lift I have that. I didn’t do anything to the rear... even though Toytec mentioned 1” lift. I don’t mind that rake. I’m selling mine— time for me to lower it. I had a stroke Dec 27 2019. Too hard for me to get into. Right now I have 295 70 18. No rubbing.

I'm not sure where you're getting that from? Every thread/review I've read about them is positive including my own personal experience. Eibach has been involved in racing and motorsports for a long time, I've been using their products since the 90's and no issues.

It's just a fact. I'm not doubting the quality.

Search EIBACH in title and 60 threads come up, search 5100 and 248 threads come up, search Bilstein or 6112 and 250 or so threads come up for each.

Actually, I'm seriously considering them after a bit of reading and a post on them from Toytec and glad to see you personally recommend them as well.

That's because the Bilstiens have been on the market for that application longer but if you read the reviews you won't find anything negative except for them claiming to be 3" which they have corrected.

I've had three sets of Bilsteins and I have not been impressed with them, including the 5160s, 6112s.

Theyre not as popular with the Tundra crowd, but not for any real good reason. They should be better out of the box than 5100s, considering Eibach would tune the shock valving to the spring included. Theyre steel bodied if I remember correctly, so they should be as robust as OME.

But if you have doubts, feel free to peruse this 224 page Tacoma thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/eibach-pro-lift-kit.545060/

Well both 5100s and Eibachs are 2" bodies basically. The 5100s are aluminum though, so while they wont rust, they wont be as structurally strong as a steel bodied shock. Also, while a 2.5" shock allows for a lot of benefits over the 2", I love the constant "2" is too small for the Tundra. Meanwhile it comes stock with 2" shocks and there are countless people beating the shit out of their 2" nitrochargers.

Old Man Emu is also fantastic stuff, that's my next purchase to replace the 5160s/6112s on my 4Runner.
