One of the few trucks that still looks good even with the Michelin tires :D

Very much not complaining but I have to admit the spacers give it something it lacked for sure. I think, if my math is correct, that the 295/70 is going to basically give me the same stance if I take the spacers out. My biggest concern is any trimming. But from what I've read around here, the front flap is the only trimming most have done. I do have plans to do a level lift, but it might be a minute before I have time to do that

Even though mine isn't a Pro, I basically have the same truck as you. You should already be close to level, although some like a little rake so you might want to check out the Coach Builder +2, which I think is a great shackle and will provide about 1.25" of lift (They also have a +1 and +3). You already have extended length Fox shocks in the rear, so an inch or so lift won't hurt. Also, I know CB sells a Pro kit too, which includes a lot of "stuff" to put your Pro on steroids! For the 295s and 1.25" spacer, I had to trim the skid plate - but if you have the TRD skid that won't be necessary. Also, I removed the front flap and used a heat gun to shape the fender well about 1/2" toward the bumper. This work may not even be needed if you don't use the spacers. However, it's hard to know how much rubbing until you install as each truck/tire is a little different.

I had planned on the 295s since day one, and from reading the forums, found out about the front flap so that came off the day I installed the spacers. I recall another user from the area who had installed the 295 Terra Grapplers and said that he had some minor heat-gun work but also had 1.25 spacers and rubbing wasn't a terrible issue. However, I can't disagree a bit about each vehicle being different. I may pull the trigger with the 295s and see where it goes from there.

The TRD does have a slight rake, but it also comes stock with a 2" lift. I really like the height now and the 295s will give me another 2" , so I'm not sure, aside from shims on the front end, that much more would be necessary.

From what I've found in my research, the 285s are across the board more expensive than the 295s... Whodathunkit

Think the higher prices reflect fewer players in this size market...

    Agreed...

You sold me on the Coopers. After a long discussion with Discount Tire, decided to run with them and should be here next week

Good luck and please send us some pics and update your results once you’re done. I’d like to see these on your truck to see how good these look on the TRD Pro wheels...I’m sure they will look great.

+1 on the Defenders. Very quiet, good traction. I also had them on my 2008 4Runner. Love them!

I’m guessing proper alignment and rotations are very important for this tire. I’ve heard lots of lifted trucks and Jeep’s driving next to me with screaming loud tires and when we get to the next red light, they have been the Ridge Grapplers many times.

Are those tire the Michelin LTX AT2s? If so, how are you liking them in the larger size?

They are not AT2s, they are Michelin Defender LTX M/S. Really liking it.
