I currently have an Infinity Kappa 5 powering Hertz K170's in all four doors, Kenwood KFC-X2C in the dash and two 10" Kenwood Excelon XR-1004 in a tech12volt enclosure.

I'm looking for a little more mid-bass from front speakers and I'm thinking I could use a bump in powering the two subs. Currently they are wired in parallel for 2-ohms.

For amps I was thinking JL Audio XD1000/5v2 vs an Audiocontrol LC-5.1300. Someone told me they are both very good amps makers - any preference for what I'm asking them to power?

Also any advice on upgrading the front Hertz K170s to something with more mid-bass? I was thinking about Hertz Ck 165L's?

    Any help and opinions appreciated!

The Audio Control has Accubass and it is a new model.

Sounds like Accubass is for OEM HU's? I have a Kenwood DMX1037 - would that be helpful for me?

Not really - Accubass is for used for correcting bass roll-off when using a factory head unit and/or amplifier.

Regardless, one more vote for the AudioControl LC 5.1300!

I think this amp is 86% efficient.

Check out Wilson Audio Labs as he Dyno tests LC5 1300 and a JL 5 channel amp.
