Middle setting with no lift in the rear was perfect for me on my 2nd gen. Had 285x65x18 KO tires

This thread is a little old, but not too old so I'll give it a shot... I am looking at doing the same as a lot of people (middle setting in the front and no lift in the rear), but will I put myself into a "front end high" situation when my ~7,000 camper is on the bumper? I will be using a WDH but I don't want the "lean".

    Thanks for the help.

I went with the middle setting. At first I thought the installer made a mistake and put it on the high setting, but I double checked and they had it correct. If you are worried that it will make the front end a bit high when you hook up your camper, then I'd go with the low setting.

Here's mine with the middle setting. The truck is sitting on a slope, so just note the space between the top of the tire and the fender.

I would do middle setting for 275/70’s

For a camper you’re gonna want to do low setting or airbags

Ok, thanks. I don't have time for the airbags before a few trips so I'll go with the low setting for now (with the possibility of changing and adding airbags down the road.)

    Thanks for the help everyone.

Before and after. Middle setting. Can barely tell in photo the difference, but ride quality is much improved and ended up with about 1.5 “ lift in front.

I put in some Bilsteins 5100 at top setting a day ago on a 17 DC 2wd. I do think I have a small lean but I think some rear shackles should level me out. Just don’t know if I should put in 1” 2” inch shackles?

Here is mine. Middle setting. No lift in rear and one CB shim on Driver side. I’m going to bump it up to top setting and go with the CB shackles in rear. I’m running a +18 offset with OEM tires 20” and I get a bit of rub on mud flap at full turn. That way when I go with a all terrain tire, it should help. I’m also installing smooth fender flares as well. I’ll post pics when complete.

I just put on 5100’s all around top setting with 1” block. Looks level but I think I have a little rake which I like. Now my wife says my tires are to small :(

Changing the offset makes a huge difference. When I put on the new wheels, it didn’t look as tall compared to the stock wheels.

I actually like the +60 offset. I’ve been thinking of putting spacers on to bring the tires out a bit. But I don’t care for to big of an offset. Just personal preference

Just installed Bilstein 5100 to top notch and left the rear stock. The rear is 1/4 Inch taller now close enough for level for me. These are stock TSS Tire and wheels AFE61E08-9FC2-4412-971D-6BBD7DEEF329.jpg852CF91F-D142-4BEF-A768-5E35287A7D71.jpg

Looks awesome man. Idk what it is with the tundras, but when they measure exactly the same f/r, the front always looks to be a little higher

What is the stock suspension on the TSS package? Is it the black, yellow, or red shocks?

I setup my front on the middle setting and I'm perfectly level. I was shocked however that I needed to trim the corners of my front skid plate from hitting my tires when my wheel was fully turned left or right. I only took off 1/4 of an inch. I thought by adding a lift up front it would give me even more clearance but not the case. I'm running 275/75/18 KO2s on the stock TRD Pro wheels. Everything is now fine and working and the truck looks great. I'm interested this spring on how it levels out towing my 28' travel trailer. We shall see.

Looks really good. I'm thinking of doing exactly the same. I have about a 1/3" driver side lean now (stock). Anyhow, do you still like it? More pics, including of driver's side? Thanks

yeah I love it. I was able to run a 285/55/20 no rub what’s so ever and a 20” with +18 offset. It’s a very appropriate being a family man IMO and drives nice. All though, I’m still wanting a 3” lift and thinking less off set. More like +25 so the tires are flush with fender. They stick out like an inch now and throw crap all up my doors.

I have fender flares I bought and had painted but they stick out further than the tire and it looks disproportionate. So I took them off. I might sell them. Undecided right now
