Does anyone know if you can clean and re use your rear diff breather valve? I checked mine and the top doesn't wiggle or anything like that so that means it's been clogged for a while. I think some brake cleaner and pb blast would be better than ordering a part and waiting

Also could someone provide me with our breather valves part number? All I can find is part numbers from turd gen forums and not sure if those will fit. I'm not looking to do an extension just the valve. Thanks

Yes you can reuse it, it just needs to breathe out and not back in

I cleaned mine out with carb cleaner and compressed air. Whenever I'm under there I give it a couple twists to keep it free.

If you're too worried about it just stick a length of hose in the hole without the breather for now.

Does Google charge a monthly or annual fee for Nest? I'm looking to get a security system for our new house soon, just getting turned off by the high fees for cloud/storage.

I mean mug pretty much anyone I see walking on the street; only about 3-4 neighbors I see walking on a regular basis.
I’ve had freeon tanks clipped off my molester van when I used to pahk it at home.
Raising the fence and putting up a beefier rolling gate is probably happening this summer, and a fence around the front and the cars might be next summer.....

I’m not sure what camera system my one neighbor has, but it only turned on once his truck light came on from his door opening, but couldn’t ever really see anything.

Can't answer for Nest but I've got some Kasa Spot cameras. Quality is decent and there's no fee for recordings but they're only visible for a few hours on the free version. The paid version is $3/month per camera or $10/month for up to 10 cameras.

    I can live with ~$9 a month/ ~$108 annually. I'll look into them, thanks!

Edit: guess I either didn't look hard enough the first time around or was misinformed of annual fees. ~$120/year seems to be the norm for most. Again, not all that bad for peace of mind and ability to watch in real time I suppose.

I'm assuming they offer a discount if you pay for a year upfront.

Yes, they do have monthly/annual charges. Before Google took over/migrated Nest, each camera had individual subscriptions. You can keep that old plan if you stay with the original Nest account or migrate it into a Google account. I was on the fence about the cloud fees but it's convenience (for me) has outweighed the cost, especially since I migrated my Nest account into the Google version. With the newer account all cameras/speakers fall under one fee. So it's cheaper for my 3 Nest cameras than the previous plan paying for a subscription on 2 of them. So for $120 a year there's no additional charge to any camera or speaker I add to the home. That $120 a year gets me 10 days of 24/7 full video history and 60 days of video event history. You can easily edit/save clips that will be stored indefinitely if you see something worth saving.

Here's an example about a year and a half ago when I noticed long, heavy tire skid marks on the street in front of my house. Nearly clipped my neighbors kids car.

    Good evening all.
I use Axis Communications for my security cameras. It's pricey but quality is unmatched and no subscription fees.

Good and bad news about my truck.
    Good
I finally figured out what was making my truck feel sluggish, BP gas or that particular BP station. I'm on tank #4 from Valero and she has been running like a champ.
    Bad
Either my transmission or torque converter is going bad. I'm getting some drivetrain shudder and odd banging in the drivetrain from time to time when I decelerate.
Sucks, I've been enjoying all the smooth power.

Yes but I'm going to get it on a lift to get a better look around. Damn truck has been running like a champ for about a month straight, might not sound like much to you guys but after all the time and $$$ spent it should be running right but unfortunately BP gas has been the devil I've been chasing

I cannot even process the video you linked. Where I'm from, that looks like a drunk driver. From your semi-casual demeanor - that seems like just another driver local to the area (not underselling you by any means, mind you). I'd be the grouchy ass hole neighbor on their stoop yelling at every single car in the neighborhood if that shit happened in front of my house.

That said, I'm liking Nest more as I research it. Still just have the unsettling feeling of knowing "the man" has direct access to my home for viewing pleasure :tinfoilhat:

Could have been a drunk driver, likely a contractor working in the neighborhood since I never see anyone driving like that in the community. I guess the semi-casual demeanor in response to that driver isn't from a "just another driver in the area" point of view, it's more from an extremely jaded outlook having lived in NYC for 48 years. When you wake up in the morning and are relieved you/your property wasn't a victim the night before, that's a win. Having had multiple instances of hit/run, theft from my vehicles and 3 actually stolen, the life I'm surrounded by now is is such a cakewalk I feel like I've won the lottery by moving here. I've also left much of that anger back east so that lets many things slide off my back here. I'm in a better place both geographically as well as mentally.

WRT the Nest cams, they have been very useful and easy to use/set up. I have a few POE wired cams and the software is horrible and a pain in the ass to view/create clips. I already had the Nest thermostats so adding cams meant I was already familiar with the app/software. I'm also not crazy about "the man" having access to anything on the cloud but since all my cams are outside of the house it doesn't bother me too much.

This sounds like someone who grew up in 80's version of NYC. That decade f@*$ us up, we don't process things like many others. I saw a guy get hit by a city bus and nearly took his head completely off, a bloody mess. My initial reaction was a cringe and the words were "he weaved when he shoulda bobbed" and I kept walking. Looked around as I was walking and saw a lady vomiting from the gruesome scene, people yelling and screaming and carrying on. That's when I realized, NYC screwed me up yet again, I definitely had the wrong reaction to the carnage. Is it happy hour yet?

Yup, born in 68, lived in the projects till 20yo. Thinking back, what was everyday life to me, most would describe as a nightmare but it was all I knew.

For the past couple of years, yes, yes it is! ;)

I just ordered one off the Bay. If I'm able to get this working for $21 that's a huge win. Thanks for the help. The only thing I wasn't clear on is that in the instructions it says you have to wait for the security panel to flash. My truck doesn't have this.
This was from the reviews on Amazon "follow the instructions including turning the ignition to ON (not ACC). Take a pen and push on the green button. YOUR BUDDY notifies you when the lights on the front security panel light up (near your left knee on the lower dash panel).

How did you determine you have an RS3000 system? It's so frustrating that these FGTs were sold brand new with like 3 different systems...

I bought a couple of these fobs for my 2004 recently. I got them off Amazon. They where $14 for one or $24 for 2. The ones I ordered wouldnt work for your 02 access cab. They are for the 2004-2006 DC. It’s a fun combo of key in key out open lock unlock close open repeat key in on off on off push fob.
Reminded me of Contra from NES. :anonymous:

I’ll link it incase someone has a 2004-2006 DC that has the factory alarm and they need new fobs.

I trusted some guy name @speedtre in this thread. :D

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/key-fob-replacement-2002-tundra.55779/

I have the same number on my fob as the guy you were helping in that thread. Post #7. I didn't read all 4 pages of that thread so if I ordered the wrong one I'll take the blame. Not your fault. I'm not too worried about $20.

As I recall all tundras 2000-2002 came with the VIP RS3000 integrated into the truck. You only had to add the glass breakage sensor to get the whole alarm system and enable it.

Is this a plug and play add-on concerning the Glass Breakage Sensor? I know my 2002 has the little blank where the Sensor would go.

Yes, it is as I recall. You can’t get the sensor new from Toyota anymore though. I have a soft copy of the manual somewhere that shows you how to install and enable it. There’s probably another copy floating out on the internet too.
