I know with my Bakflip trifold it wasn't compatible with the bed rail system so the dealer just added some drop plates to move the rail system about 3 inches lower. The plates just bolted in where the bed cover attached to the truck. I've had no issues and I assume many others had had something similar done.

Sorry, he beat me to it. Mine looks identical. The rails are study and I've had no issues with it.

No problem you’ll love it if you go that route no leaks can go through the car wash and everything in the bed stays dry

If you order a BakFlip MX4 cover they have one designed to use with the bed rail system and one for no bed rail system. If you have the bed rail system it comes with those flat drop down rectangular brackets that you see in the photos. Of course, you have to order that specific option. The BakFlip website shows "supplemental" instructions for what to do if you have the bed rail system. Cheers.

I had a similar post on covers a few months back. I bought the backflip MX4 and a Bakbox. Really like both. Install was very easy. I have the rail system too. Others covered that so I won’t bother. So, when I decided which I wanted I struck up a chat conversation on Baks website and got close to 20% knocked off the price. I was very leery of it since making the purchase this way. I got convinced it was legit and pulled the trigger. I got shipping notices quickly and it showed up a week later. If you choose this route....be sure to negotiate a price. They will work with you. First come back was a drop of about $75. Lady said to go lower a supervisor would need involved. I told her....I have time so ask away!

Did you have to find this solution on your own or did the dealership offer it to you? I'm looking to get a cover for my bed but don't want to lose the rail system that came with the truck.

Dealer install they moved the rails not sure if new mounting holes we’re made but you could probably figure out how to do it yourself and save money hope that helps

The kit is crazy easy. The extenders are pieces of 1/8 inch aluminum. Holes about 2 inches apart. Buy a piece of 2 inch wide aluminum and make then. You reuse the screws to secure the top. Buy some small bolts and nuts and connect the rail. $20 at Home Depot will take you all the way.

thanks man. That sounds easy. I manage several metal shops. I can make them out of something better than aluminum.

Anyone know of any low profile bedcovers that don't require the bed rail system to be lowered? Looking to add a cover and possibly the bed storage boxes from the trail edition if I can find a combo that works. Prefer automated roll up

Welcome. If you want dimensions I can get them off mine. Inconnel would make some nice extenders!

Same way the MX4 installs. I believe you will still have to lower the rail system. Unless I missed something. I just looked at the first video I saw.

I just installed the leer HF650M. No problem with the rails. Tundra crew max 2019. Instructions were not the best but was easy once you realized where the connectors actually slide into the rail itself.

I have the Rough Country low profile tri-fold. It uses the rail system to mount. So far, I like it. Only a couple drops of water get in at the tailgate during car washes. Stays dry in the rain.

Im thinking of getting the Undercover Armor Flex---which I think mounts the same as the Ultra Flex. Does it require lowering the rail or does it install as is?

Wondering the same thing with the undercovers... if the rail remains in the same place, is it usuable?

Just had the Armor Flex installed today. Mounted directly to the deck rail system. Only drawback is the cleats will have to be removed.
