@SprinterAE86 did you get the patch harness from Dasaita yet? I got my new canbus (CB005-1) today and plugged it in AND..........still no AUX input or reverse cam pic!! I did figure out though that I can get an external audio source to play by using a cable that converts a 3.5mm jack to two male RCAs. The two male RCAs plug into the two female RCAs on the Camera Aux Cable that plugs into the HU. This set up cannot work for me right now w/o a 3.5mm female adapter to plug into my new AUX/USB port so I got back to Dasaita today to let them know of the section that is working (and that the RCAs on the canbus harness are not working). I want them to fix it in the canbus but in case they won't at least I have a Plan B. Still need to get the backup cam working. I keep bumping into things. I think I need to tap the orange wire into a power source. I think I read somewhere here that the orange wire is the trigger wire.

1.) No, I have not gotten the parch harness.
2.) Can you draw that on paper so I can see and possibly replicate.
3.) Yes, the orange wire is the trigger.

I need to download a Sequoia electrical schematics to start making my own patch harness that will work. I have to many odds and ends that I can maybe have a fully functional patch harness in the end.

Cha5.6, you are on the right track.

You'll need to open the compressed folder to find the IMG file. Then simply move that IMG file to your usb.

Make sure your usb is formatted first by right clicking on it and clicking "Format". This will delete all files on the usb and allow the head unit to find the correct file properly.

After the IMG file is moved to the usb, you can proceed to plugging it into the head unit > navigating to settings > about this device > MCU update. It'll reboot, update, and reboot again when successful.

Hi guys! I’m new to this forum but not necessarily new to Dasaita.. I got a quick question...I’ve read on here that some people used an aftermarket amp to power their speakers along with their Dadaists head units.

1.) I’m planning on doing the same thing but wanted to know if I should tap into the speaker output wires on the Dasaita wiring harness sides or the or the original factory side harness speaker wires?

2.)Also should I invest in a line out converter like the Lc7i or are the preamp outputs on the Dasaita good enough to output power to my speakers? I have a non JBL unit.

Thanks for your help and keep up the good work!

I just wanted to know if I should connect the output side to the speaker wires of the factory Tacoma harness or the Dasaita harness or if there’s any difference??

Hi everyone, new to the forums here and happy to have found this discussion, it is a great resource! I have a 2011 Tundra Limited with JBL, Nav, Rear camera and I just ordered the Dasaita as well on Amazon -- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0838Y9DDX. I have read through this entire forum in prep and am confident in installing as a result. I only have one question remaining in prep - Is there anything gained in feature/capability with their GPS receiver vs buying an adapter and using the OEM?

I would consider this unit. Price better.

Nope, not really. The stock one is mounted behind the head unit under the dash (not the 'fin' on top of the truck like people think - that's for XM Radio). Looking back, I could have saved some money and not bought the adapter.

I would assume so. It appears you input a left and right input into the box. You would need an RCA splitter to accomplish it.

The other stereo would have to have the same style plugs and pins as the dasaita.

@SprinterAE86 How'd the harness go? Everything working now? I'm still in the same place since last we spoke. Updates - after 51 exchanged emails, a second harness, and a harness they made specially for me :), I am still in the same boat... Kinda... The rear cam and AUX are still not working as expected. Even with the harness they made for me where they put a connector on the orange wire to connect to the vehicle gray connector (instead of splicing the orange in) I still don't have a trigger to automatically turn on the rear cam when put into reverse. What works, is when I turn on F Cam, then switch to rear, I do see out the back. Video isn't as bad as I thought it would be. My work around to make this not such a PITA is to add a F Cam shortcut in my AGAMA launcher (bottom right in lieu of microphone) so that it is easy for my to punch thru and get the app I need to see out back. With this HU we can even autolaunch apps by pressing and holding the app and choosing a delay for it to start. If this doesn't work on the Dasaita laungher then maybe it comes w/ the AGAMA launcher.

Secondly, even though I can easily listen to SiriusXM thru my HU w/ the app I do still like using my PNP unit that runs thru the AUX input. I have the PNP unit hardwired to a constant so I can buffer Howard while I'm in the store, etc. Hate commercials and it works for me. Since the OEM AUX input no longer works, and Dasaita says it should, here's the patch I came up with that you asked for above. I have a F/F noise filter that I connect between a M/M RCA to male headphone jack (this connects to the F/F RCA on the HU) and a male to female speaker input (combo w/ USB) that will swap out the OEM Aux input. Links below.

Connections for Aux Input (and USB Input)
    A) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XFQNFSS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    D) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MY1WDIU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This does work, just haven't prettied it up yet (since I just ordered the first link (A), M/M RCA to male headphone jack, to replace my rigged/concept connections). I'll have my SiriusXM PnP unit going into the headphone jack of (C) along w/ the android auto USB cable into the (C) USB port). I replaced the left cigarette lighter with (D) and I have a thumb drive plugged into one USB port and the other USB port remains open for another thumb drive or another slow charger.

Since you asked, I added a bunch of QC3.0 fast chargers. (E) replaced my blank next to the passenger butt warmer, (F) was added behind the 1st row armrest, beneath the rear seat controls, for the 2nd row passengers to charge devices, and I'm adding today (G) which will replace the cigarette lighter in the rear so that I will still have one for the air pump, etc and a fast charger for row 3.

    Fast USB chargers
    E) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P2WMLXK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    F) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FXH5ZZK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    G) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08MQBQ82J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll add pics of all this when I finally give up on working with Dasaita on getting everything working that they say should work, and button up the HU.

Was able to get the max10 installed last weekend and no real issues so far. The existing JBL system sounds better, rear cam works, and I’ve gotten to customizing a bit already. Now that I understand wireless CarPlay takes over wifi I think I’d prefer to disable wireless CarPlay and just use my hotspot to the head unit and use the native apps. My phone is fighting me on that, turning off CarPlay on the phone still results in wifi being taken over and it trying CarPlay anyway. Very annoying but I think that’s an Apple and iPhone experience issue overall.

My other concern is an offset image on the unit. Support gave me an update that didn’t change anything so I just reverted back to most recent updates on the dasaita site. See attached picture for reference, sorry it is not great quality. You’ll see the bezel cuts off the left side of the screen. In most apps it’s not noticed as there aren’t characters all the way to the left edge. But some apps, and many text input screens, are clearly cut off. Are your guys units like this also? This unit is the one specifically made for gen 2 tundras. From the driver viewing angle it’s worse and annoying, although manageable if it is just the way these units are designed.

I finally got the rear camera working with the patch harness and 6v diode patch harness and using the green wire as a trigger for reverse.

I'll pull out the radio and take pictures of where I tapped to trigger the reverse camera.

Usb and aux port is still not working. I have to get an aftermarket. All of the patch harness i for for it did not work or no place to plug it in. I might just have 2 USB port with no aux. With my application is not going to be used.

I too need to add a total of 4 usb ports for the rear. And look for a hack to turn the DVD player into a tablet using raspberry pi.

Now, I'm going to see how I can upgrade the reverse camera with HD cam. The video quality is not all that great. But makes a big difference backing up again, especially at night.

Just joined the forum, thanks for the excellent information on the Dasaita with over 52 pages, in case it helps someone, here is my purchase experience.
I have not received all the parts yet, but I prefer Amazon due to the ease of return of items at Kohl's or Whole foods with Prime.

This is for a 2019 Tundra Dbl Cab with no JBL.

After reading the forums, I reached out to Dasaita@amazon.com to get more information if the harness would be included. After around 4 days I received an email with a link to order from Amazon and send them my order #.

So the Amazon item seems to be the most expensive option, perhaps due to prime, I paid $549+tax, it said it included the carplay cables and delivery in 2 days for Prime but it has been over a week now. I sent Dasaita the order number as instructed by them but with no reply for over 5 days since purchase, after multiple messages they reached back to me after 5 days saying the CB004 Cambus was needed and it would not be included, I thought it would be included which is why i sent them 4 emails confirming but they said I need to buy this $60 item with $15 shipping, so I ordered one, every delivery is delayed due to the winter storms. The communication experience with Dasaita was not encouraging so I wonder how support will work if I have a faulty unit.
After their delayed response, I felt I overpaid and was ticked off enough and was tempted to return everything but I just hate the factory unit.

I purchased the Metra Dash kit because I don't know if I will get the single or 2 din unit.
I also purchased the Natika front camera, the instructions on the forum should be very helpful
The other items Maestro GPS Antenna and SAT Kit, USB Port retention cable, Fingerlakes microphone, RF Coax connector all recommended by OP have also been purchased, I will return what i don't need.

    Do I need anything else?
I plan to follow instructions for FCAM and factory RCAM to avoid phantom drain on the battery
The whole dash is torn apart so I cannot wait to install this once all the parts are in and I will post pictures so it helps others. If links are needed for any of the items above, please ask.

Thanks again for the all the help from all the forum members.

Glad you got your rear cam working. Taking pics is second nature to me when pulling the HU out. Looking forward to the pics! Can find a green wire in any of my pics. Is it part of a harness?

Too bad USB and AUX isn't working. What are your thoughts on going w/ some of my cables listed above? They could surely work, but maybe not to the factory USB, which I don't have (thankfully!). LMK what reverse cam you're looking at. All the outside ones I'm finding don't seem to be any higher than stock. I've been looking for a HD or 4K front and rear cam. I'd like the front to be seamless behind the RV mirror. Dasaita sells one but they don't give enough info for me to want to try it.

EDIT: I found the green wire I think you were referring to. It's the one in the pic which shows the harness they made for me (#3) recently that has a connector on the orange wire that taps into the connector containing the green wire.

Welcome to the club! I'm surprised you're having so many problems making/keeping contact w/ Dasaita. I ordered thru the Dasaita storefront on Amazon and have over 50 exchanges this year w/ Iris. She's very responsive at never more than a day or two (for weekends). There's a Sati Navi (sp?), too and they've been pretty helpful as I tag team the two storefronts to get me stuff working. Not sure how much help I can provide as I have a Sequoia. Even though there are so many similarities and co-uses of equipment, the differences seem to be too great on how JBL and non JBL are wired between the Tundras and Sequioias especially from year to year. There are a ton of successful stories in this forum for Tundras and many O.G. who could lend some support if they are still getting pings from this forum. Good luck and keep us updated. We'll help where we can!

    Thank you @donellyd
How do you communicate with Iris? I have tried both, amazon@dasaita.com and the Dasaita store on Amazon, I don't mind paying the listed price but if after repeated emails they tell me i need to buy another part after they told me the harness would be included if I send them the Amazon order number, it pissed me off, I don't care about the extra cost.
I realize you have a Sequoia, what Cambus harness did you use? CB004 or CB005, I am confused as to which one i need for my 2019 Tundra with no JBL.

I would really like the Dasaita to work since I am an Android guy so I plan on playing around with the Dasaita or return it if it does not work as advertised, I will probably be getting a Kenwood Excelon 1057xr, I realize it costs more than twice the Dasaita, but I would rather have something that is stable than deal with lack of documentation and support, however I really want this to work.

Ok, maybe this will help....and this information is many posts back...Place your order for whichever HU you want. I made sure I purchased thru the Dasaita store front on Amazon (there are others, such as Saita Navi) because I wanted to have access to Iris if I had any trouble. The storefront is listed beneath the Add to Cart and Buy Now buttons, it'll say, Sold by Dasaita Official Store). Once the order is placed, go to https://www.amazon.com/sp?_encoding...derID=&seller=A1HSGG5K9B1122&tab=&vasStoreID= and click the Ask a Question button. The Seller Messaging Assistant will come up. Choose An Order I Placed. Enter your order # and tell them your year make model vehicle along w/ whether it is JBL or not, rear camera or not, AUX a/o USB or not. You can also send a photo of your HU since they may ask for it. In my case, and many others, at this point you will be connected to Iris. She will either put the correct harness w/ canbus into your shipment (if they have it in stock), or if they don't have it in the store front, it'll be in China. I had to order a BMW harness since it was $50 then I sent her that order #. I believe she reimbursed me $25 and 'rush' mailed the correct harness from China by air (not rush is by boat and takes twice as long). The harness I was sent for my set up was a CB005-1, and I think the -1 was since I had a rear camera. This canbus came separate from my HU which included a harness but no canbus. Anyway, this is how I got hooked up w/ Iris. I always respond to the last message she sends me and it just creates a long chain for each of us to refer to. If it is Iris she includes her name in all emails. I have never heard of anybody other than Iris responding to messages in the Amazon Dasaita store front.

Your ENTIRE last post is me. Everything. I really wanted this to work. I even purchased the 3 year extended warranty since I saw others had problems after 6+ months. I'm glad I stuck it out because the HU is AWESOME. It did not end the way I wanted it by having my AUX work and my rear camera trigger, but I have already come up w/ a workaround for the AUX and I know getting the camera to trigger is around the corner. Like I said before, there are a ton of Tundra success stories. Once you get all your parts I'm sure there is a solved scenario for any problem you may encounter getting it the way you want it.

And here's the final pics. I'm taking a break from the HU for now. Been working on it nearly everyday this year. Still don't have a working OEM AUX but I do have a work-around that looks as good, or better, than the OEM AUX. Only small peeve is the reverse cam is no longer activated by putting the vehicle in reverse. I did however add a shortcut to my AGAMA launcher in the lower, left corner.

With Android Auto and with Agama launcher using phone hotspot

New Connections: The HU came w/ 3 female USBs which are now terminated into a dual USB hub and a AUX/USB combo hub for SiriusXM PnP unit and Android Auto. Dual QC3.0 chargers were added for front, middle and back seats.

If you haven't gotten this to work yet, you can easily disable it. Go into the factory settings(password 126) from the car settings. I don't recall exactly what menu it is located but there is a setting to set "carlink" or something like that to Android or Zlink for Apple. If you just set it to none or off then it is disabled. I did this as I don't see any value in using Carplay.
