IMO, not really. You have to remove the A-pillar cover, the roof console and the stock microphone (if you have one).

I also want to install a Helix Director inside the sunglass pocket. I just hope the wires are easy to hide.

It probably took me 45 minutes. Take the overhead console off, the left a pillar cover and the left dash cover and speaker. I used a fish tape, poked through where the factory wires run under the headliner and pulled it back to through. 20210131_110720.jpg 20210131_110844.jpg

I didn't get any pictures going behind the left tweeter. You will want to run you fish tape starting at the head unit and poke it behind the cluster towards the firewall and just under the left dash tweeter. Pull the remaining cord back through.

I almost ran out of length going this route but wprked great.

Use a panel tool to pop off the paper holder in the middle. two screws under there and two screws under sunglass holder. If this is what you are referring to. 20210131_112125.jpg 20210131_112128.jpg

Good call in the mic. I tried mounting mine on the steering column and dash before moving to this location. This is by far the best place for both aesthetics and call quality.

After installing my 1057, everything works and sounds awesome, expect for on phone calls even with the volume turned all the way up I have a really hard time hearing the person I’m talking to but they hear me crystal clear. If I’m not driving I can hear them very clear but even with the volume turned up I know it should be louder. Is there a setting I’m missing?

Yeah, I saw those but there’s nothing for the volume or gain for the call. It’s all the way up to 40 and sounds great but only at a stop. It doesn’t make sense.

Got it. It’s under system oem settings, then the maestro settings, and you can bump the audio plus or minus 6db.

I think there might be a shortage in radios. Here's a better deal.

I’ll never do business with that place. I should post photos of the install they did on my truck. It was so bad it was criminal. That’s why I do my own installs now moving forward.

I went and bought my unit for $1100 out the door. They look like they are a mess. I just buy stuff there.

Congratulations on a successful install. How long did it take? Please I will appreciate a step by step Idiot guide on how to do the installation.

I got the following for my 2017 1794 Tundra with JBL:

    DMX1057 $999, dash kit w silver trim TA2116B $45, interface Maestro RR $129, harness TO2 $45, antenna adapter BAA44 $9, USB retention USBTY1 $12. Total $1239.

I have no idea where to start. I have searched YouTube and & all I could get is how to remove the stock unit and how to mount the 1057. But No idea of how to configure the harnesses.

It took about 4 hours from start to finish. I took my time with it though and I'm sure it could be done faster.

Here is a link about mounting into a Tundra I used: https://youtu.be/wOaY3jW3Diw
Here is another link on the harness:
    https://youtu.be/GhiMy1GPayE
I used Cruthfield which had modified the harness for me for an extra $25.

Configuring the Maestro is pretty self explanatory once you connect it to your computer and go through the on screen prompts. Most of the harnesses are plug and play. Don't forget to ground your parking brake wire to the back of the head unit.

That should help, let us know if you have any more questions.

Keep your subwoofer control level at +1 to obtain a 4.8V Pre Out.

Is that for all channels? I’m using a separate DSP, so if everything is zeroed on my head unit I’m not getting the full voltage output?

Yes, I know on the head unit. I’m asking that if I dont turn the sub to plus one, I’m not getting the full preamp voltage to my amps?

Hi Scud, have you been able to resolve the , issue of fuel and parking sensors not working on the dmx1057xr? If yes, how did you get it to work?
