I’m thinking he meant R18. After all, a 285/75R18 is skinnier than a 295/70 but is a 1/2” taller, like he said.

I have 285/60r20 RG's on my '19. I love this truck...20190413_004257.jpg but I am trading that truck in for a '21 next week once it gets here from the assembly plant in Texas. I have ordered and ready to install the ReadyLIFT 3/2, Fuel Wheels - 18x9 +20 offset, and 285/75r18 NRG's. They are a taller tire and just a hair skinnier thank the 295's. Can't wait!

    Gents,

I just put an ICON 3” lift on my 18 Double Cab and put 295/70/18 Nitto Grapplers on the Stock Off Road rims (for some reason I really like them) and because of the Fender Flares I put 1.5” spacers on to make sure they looked right. Have a bit of a rub when I do a hard left- do I have to do a ton of cutting or can I just grind a bit? Going to get under there today to see exactly what is rubbing and how much needs to come off.

    Thanks in advance,

    Greg

I have 2" spacers and this is what I did

I took off the rear flaps and also the front ones. I needed to do a little heat gun treatment to the front plastic.
The other thing you can do is see how your alignment is, you may be able to have them adjust your caster as long as you are still in range and it doesn't mess anything up.

And I can guess its rubbing on the front liner and also the rear body mount near the footwell of the driver side.
You will be able to see the rub marks.
I hope this helps and does not confuse you any.

Thank you! I played around with it this morning (turning the wheel until I got the rub then jumping out to check see)- I thought it was the rear body mount but it isn't- I actually couldn't see any rubbing (was a 5 minute exercise before I went to work). I think if anything it is rubbing on the inside of the tire on the back corner of the wheel well... will have another set of eyes helping me next time.. I really really appreciate you taking the time to help me- means a lot. Will keep you posted.

    Have a great weekend,

    Greg

Another thing is you could use a little chalk on the wheel wells or where you think it is rubbing and see if it rubs off with the tire and where.
    And not problem!
that's what we are all here for!

Found the rub. It isn’t on the drivers side at all- but the passengers side... is that a problem caused by the spacers?

No, it could just be alignment.
Later on when I go outside when there is light I will look at mine. It's 4am here. I think I cut that small piece of plastic out. No use to me. I will take a look and post a picture. You should be able to fix it. If it is rubbing on the front bumper mount that's a different thing. It's so strange one how each truck is soooooo different even if they are the same tear. I have a 2020 and a few didn't have to do anything but the flaps.

Does anyone know if 295/70/18 tires fit on the stock rims? I would rather not spend another $1500 if they fit in the well on stock. Tundra has 3” level front kit.

They do. I put mine on the stock TRD Off Road package rims. Fit fine.
