How did you make out on the seat swap? How easy/difficult was it with Lexus seats?
(Thinking of doing the same myself).

@Professional Hand Model, it seems you're describing putting the washers between the seat frame and the threaded hole with the bolt going through the washers, is that correct? I put washers under the seat frame which raises the front of the seat but is hokey and doesn't follow your description. Does my '03 Tundra have the same seat pedestal as yours?

Thanks for any tips that you have.

Thank you. You have the right idea. If you like the height you have you may be able to wallow out the hole a little to allow that screw to engage. My brackets look similar to yours iirc (its been a while). I was able to get two 1/8” washers under each seat bracket for a total of 1/4” rise which makes a big difference.

I didn’t need to drill, but you may. Hows the seat feel now?

It feels pretty good and seems like a nice improvement. I may go to only two washers after I give it a test drive.

I would like to upgrade my 02 bucket seats. The armrests are so wimpy I hardly use them.

Actually a full seat and center console swap with a higher console I could rest my arm on would be real nice

I did that to mine because my old seats were crap. Swapped the driver for a power seat and swapped the passenger for the split bench. Swapping to the bench was literally just 1 plug and bolt in, took 10 minutes. Found it out of a 60k mile truck for $120.

Also anyone know what year Subaru seats "fit"?

I am planning on cutting off my brackets and welding them on the new seats.

Old thread but very curious how this turned out- my splt bench driver seat is sagging bad, thought about mounting an es300 seat or something but keepin the split bench if possible. Any pic of your set up?

Wow, I completely forgot about this thread. Heres some pics, cant see too much because these seat covers are a bitch to remove.

That red circle is the alignment pin for the armrest that I pulled, because this power seat was originally made for two buckets, not a bench. Theres also a ~2.5 inch hole in the leather there. I patched the power seat into the 30a for the windows, haven't had any issues since i did it(little over a year ago). Also these covercraft seat covers rock, found them being sold open box locally for $40 and they're super durable.

I've been stuck on #26 for a while. I need to finish doing the revamp on my stereo, then bed liner my roof, then bed liner my bed, then put in my rear shock kit. That's all getting done before Summer starts.

All my other cars are constantly in the way.

Its the second time I've done my stereo lol. I installed everything in 2008, that stuff is old enough to drive now.

And potentially a little acceptance of risk on a scale of 1 to 10. There's a reason floors are reinforced where the bolts pass through, just like there's a reason the bolts are aligned directly over the rail, etc.

I've heard horror stories over the years of people mating up seats from other cars by bolting to a plate under the floor, just bolting to the floor, bolting using material that doesn't have proper tensile strength, only to have tragedy hit in a collision when the seat rips itself out or the brackets snap and fail.

Not like I think anyone would do something stupid, but it's worth mentioning the potential risk, if for nothing else than to get people's brains going about how to over-safe-ify things.

@shifty` for sure. I've seen seats held down with drywall screws, its insanity. I had a friend with a mini truck and his seats (buckets from a corolla) were held down by the weight of the person sitting on them.

    Gotta be careful with seats.

Any idea if 2014 Escalade bucket seats are identical to your 2017’s? Did you have to make major fabrications to make them secure? Much thanks. I found a pair of 2014 Escalade leather buckets in great condition and would love to put them in instead of my split bench.
