I fail to see how anyone can compare the newer Tacoma to a 1st gen tundra.

You have a V8, a lower center of gravity for better cornering, great interior space and IMO a better look.

Tacoma has bloated body panels to push out the width to match the increase in track width. Other than the more modern amenities, I don’t see the appeal. Even after driving one I felt like I had to floor it to get any real power or pull unlike the Tundra.

If I had to buy new, I’d buy my 1st gen Tundra all over again in instant....after I soak the frame in POR-15. :D

I am a certified desert rat, let's just say that. I will say I don't know where the third pic is!

Also, we have a '15 Tacoma. It is a light duty work horse and it does it's job well; but it just doesn't have the same power my V8 has. I look at them very similarly in some aspects (size) but I would not choose one to make a build out of.

Also the 1st gen tundras have steel beds instead of composite.

I know this is a old thread, but I learned so much from "Garage Topics" Youtube site recently. He sold his Taco for a stunning 1st gen Tundra and compared them side by side. He tows cars with his too!!! It made me feel proud to have my 1st gen Tundra!!!

I mean, the answer is obvious.

So he can say he carries a lot of sh*t around in his truck.

I didn't own a 3rd gen taco but I drove my fathers for a few months while he was overseas. Big disappointment, drove like a car, not a truck. The interior tech sucks (no wireless android auto). After months of searching, I found my 06 DC. Coming from a 01' 2.7 Taco. I have no regrets! My 3rd gen taco friends/family have v8 envy..lol. I also have so much mod money to play with. FTW!
