    Hello all,

Going to put a shell on my 07 tundra double cab for the first time. I have seen horror stories of scratches on the sides and the tailgate from shells. I am going to try the protective film before having a snugtop rebel put on and was wondering if anyone has a similar set up and can tell me how far down from the bed rail the snug top shell extends so I can put down the appropriate length down?

Also if anyone can help also let me know how far down on the tailgate the shell window trim extends so I can have the film put there as well. Thank you in advance for any help!

    Welcome from NY.

Put snugtop rebel in the search bar, there are plenty of posts and pictures.

Thank you but that won’t help me get a somewhat exact length of how wide I need the film to be just by looking at a picture

I’m not sure how to ask the question more courteously. I know how a google search works. I was hoping for a measurement not a recommendation on searching . I know how to do that .. and did that... with no luck . Now pretty please...with sugar on top... in reference to my first post ever on this... if anyone can help me with my question it would be greatly appreciated

Search on this lil guy. Not google. Once you find a post that looks helpful, read through it. If needed, reach out to the poster of THAT thread, and see if they'll help. If not, try another. Most are helpful here as long as you're not looking to be spoonfed. Welcome aboard too

It wont scratch the sides. At least not on mine. I can get a finger in on both sides. The rear does sit on the tailgate. I did put an inch of clear bra on the top part of the tailgate. My decal has been off but heres a reference.

Yeah I noticed that and all the pictures I had looked at. I do not have a TRD logo and I have the previous generation body style so I wasn’t able to correlate that to mine . I was trying to get a fairly exact measurement so I could have the film put on before the camper shell and not have to go back and have it trimmed but I can probably deduce from some of the pictures and the link you sent you for the link I will check it out. Thanks again for the link

I put clear vinyl on tailgate as well. Also use some extra weatherproof material in bed corners.
4x84 was the size I used for the tailgate.
    4" is more than enough
