1 I realize this may be a dumb question, but i did look around to find the answer first so i did try.

2 I just bought a 2016 SR5 and it is great, dealer didnt say too much about it, but i see it has the TRD exhaust tips (at least) and i cant seem to find out it is the full system or not. it seem to be loud and a beast to me, but i am coming from a tacoma where i knew the difference when i put on a magnaflow.
I guess i want to know if they even sell just the tips, or what the purpose would be for that, the original owner put a ton of care into it and didnt go cheap at all. So how do i know what i have running down there?

Sorry if i am sounding very new.

    thank you from San Diego

If you post a picture from under the truck here we can tell you pretty quick if it’s a TRD exhaust or not

If it is dual exhaust, and from the factory, then it is the TRD exhaust. Yes you can purchase the tips and individual components.

Well, for starters, welcome to the club! You said "TIPS", as in plural. So, you have dual exhaust. All SR5 Tundras come standard with a single tube outlet exhaust. So, it is very likely that yours has a TRD dual exhaust system. If not, then the previous owner installed an aftermarket brand (Borla, DirtyDeeds, Flowmaster, etc.) and installed TRD tips (which, yes, are available). Have you gotten underneath the truck to see if there is a brand name embossed on it?

Pretty sure tips are bolt on and factory TRD exhaust has them integrated (welded in)

TRD dual exhaust looks like this underneath the truck and dual tips coming out the side behind the rear tires. (not my pics)

I would like to install the TRD system on mine, with an X pipe right in front of the mufflers.

Reach out to Keith Carty of Dirty Deeds Industries. He has perfected the TRD exhaust system. Anywhere you look on this forum, or other forums, Dirty Deeds and Keith Carty are hands down the most recommended exhaust system out there. ***CEHCK OUT THE ATTACHED PDF AS WELL, Very good info

If you are open to maybe not going with a TRD system, take advantage of this weekend's sale:
