Hey guy, I’m trying to fit a 35” spare under the bed.

I do not have the correct tools to cut out those rivets.

you have an air chisel or other method to cut off those ears/tabs let me know.

I can roll up ready to go. You air chisel 4 rivets, I clean up the mess and take the trash away and leave you with some beer money!

    I’m in la habra/brea area

Shoot, my mom lives in La Habra Heights and has all kinds of tools my dad left when he passed away five years ago. If I was there visiting her, I'd say come on by.

I wanted it done today so after seeking some advice, I went against all state and federal safety regulations to get it done!

took the guard off my 4.5” grinder to fit a larger disk to reach the rivets, ground the heads off as much as I could. A few hits with hammer and some prying and out they came.

35” spare is now tucked up no issues at all!

I love working on my truck, I just didn’t think I had the right tool for the job.

it was a little sketchy with the guard off the grinder but I got it done and am happy to have my full sized spare up there

but having a full sized spare in the garage and taking a couple road trips soon motivated me to get this done!
