I got the shift boot off of eBay. There is a bunch of them for sale. They are pretty cheap. The actual mod doesn’t take to long. I did however spend a lot of time looking at 100s of pages of this thread and saw what others had done. I am not done with the mod. I did find what I believe is a high quality shift boot from Redline. Ordered one from them, but did not realize they are in Poland. They say the boot will be here at the end of the month. Once I get that I will do a more extensive write up with more pics.

    Cool. Thanks.

I'm more interested in how you trimmed down the shaft, threaded it, and necked the shift boot to the knob. Will forward to your post.

When I did mine I just pulled the lower dash and AC panel and drilled a pretty good size hole on the inside of the silver surround right even with the 4x4 knob. With that hole I was able to get a small flathead in there and pop the clip holding the knob and wiggle it out.
Once everything is buttoned up you'll never see the hole, and I figured it was quicker that taking everything apart.

Just got the same setup, going on next week as well. Quality seems pretty good, somewhere between Bilsteins and the higher end coilovers.

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts once you've had some time on the new suspension.
There's not a lot of Tundras running this that I've seen, but I have seen lots of good stuff about them on other platforms.
For the price I figured its worth giving them a shot.

I haven’t done any sound deadening. I may in the future but I’d rather put the money towards other mods right now.

I did mine with the dash still together with the temp control unit still out. Use a screwdriver to depress the top clip and get your finger in underneath to release the bottom clip and it should slide right out.

Where did you get these from? I'm 5'8" and can't seem to get my seat to lean forward enough without raising the seat so high I have to open the sunroof.

If you do it yourself, it's actually not very expensive. In fact, I'd say, in terms of the return on investment, it's a great deal. I may not have put the OEM+ system in mine, had I not already bought it and had it sitting here when I did the deadening; the deadening did that much for the sound inside the cab. A friend of mine has a '19 Taco, and he was going to do what I did, deaden the doors and back panel, and put in the OEM stuff. He did the deadening first, looked at the price of the system OEM+ has on preorder now, ($2600!!!), and decided to just get a couple of new speakers and call it a day. I think I have about $175 in the deadening in my truck, and my personal time in putting it in.

Maybe I’ll look into doing it in the spring. It’s to damn cold around here now to start pulling off panels.

What kind of deadening did you use?

I had their shocks (stock coils) on a 5th gen 4Runner and I loved them. I think your are going to be pleasantly surprised. I though they were hands down better at small bump sensitivity and initial hit comfort than the 5100s. I felt they were more on par with the 6100’s I had experience with. They nailed their valving IMHO. Truthfully Eibach are going to be my go to shocks from here on out...

There are several brands out there but I got this a few days ago from Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0751G6TMV/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_1N786P2RPTWF5J5P0N5V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It's 50 mil which I thought might be good for the doors, but I might get the 80 for the rear panel

I reassembled the dial incorrectly so I had a lot of experience re-removing it LOL the 4x4 setting didn't like how I put it back together a couple of times.

I don’t really want the trd pro grille just the color matched surround. I may order the trd sport grille instead I think it has the honeycomb grill that the sr5 has.
Then I don’t have to worry about breaking tabs lol

Im selling off the Pro insert and keeping my stock black 2018 honeycomb. I only needed the surround but couldnt buy it separate.
This setup was $261, the one with the 2018+ grill was over $800 and I wouldve had two of the same grill. A little patience and a tiny screwdriver and they were apart in 20 mins. Its really not bad, you just need patience.

Wow. Are they just pulling out the dent in the bed or are they replacing any sheet metal?

Headed out on a 100 mile round trip to DT for new tires today. At least my new sensors will be installed and the light will finally be out. I might see if the Tractor Supply has anything good while I'm waiting. :notsure:

If you can keep an eye on their site they have 50% off sales. I bought mine locally from a guy that never installed it. They run about $1600 and he had it Line-X'ed. I got it for $800 and I did Rigid flush mounts which was another $250.

Hood bulge on, old grill off, had to pry my stock grill out of the chrome to put the inferno surround on and felt like I was defusing a bomb.. no tabs or plastic broken and shes back in. Dropping front bumper then front end reassembly..
meanwhile my awesome husband is in the truck installing my dash cam for me.
