Boss Off-road is getting shipment in 2-3 weeks and has a no commitment to buy wait list. Just an FYI

Hopefully he gets more than Wheelers. They are getting 15 in a few weeks but I'm still 31st in line from my initial order in November. It's been a frustrating wait. Think I'm going to just order Dobinsons

Wow. I’ve been patient but haven’t been waiting since November. Did contemplate the Falcons I’ll admit tho.

I have 6112 @ 1.9 and 5100 with 1in shackles in the rear and I have a pretty heavy driver side lean. I’m considering bumping up to 2.5 front. Could I raise to rear and get rid of the lean with just a few shims?

I’m not sure if they’re in stock or not, but I placed an order and awaiting an email let me know my fate.

That's where I ordered mine from in November. I'm still 31st in line to receive a set

I have mine set at 1.9” with 2 CoachBuilder shims on the passenger side and 1 CB shim on the driver’s side.
It took a while to settle buts it’s even now. Approx total front lift should be around 2.4”.

Here's an update on mine ... 6112s at top setting & finally installed with SPC UCAs. I already had 5160s in back with Toytec shackles @ 1" setting. There's a Decked unit in the bed as well. Not liking the angles on the CVs even with the diff drop I installed a long time ago when I put the 5100s on. They should settle in with some more miles. Method Roost + WildPeak 295/65/20

Are you planning on new bump stops? Looks like you are missing the little “extensions” that come with the 6112s.

I can check with Shock Surplus on that; they don't mention any bump stop spacers/extensions as part of the 6112 kit. Not a big deal right now, but I'll probably replace the OEMs with something else eventually.

Mine came with washers to use on top of the OEM bumpstops.

Huh. Sounds like my shocks were missing those spacers, or the shop guys didn't know what to do with them (doubtful). No biggie ...

Yeah, they probably didn’t know what to do with them. Anyway, I looked into the Wheeler’s bumpstops and lfound this old thread:

    https://www.fjcruiserforums.com/thr...ith-wheelers-offroad-front-bump-stops.406346/

I’m still not exactly sure why or how that happened to the FJ, and I don’t remember reading about anyone on this forum that experienced a similar issue. But I noticed on their site they also say they sell washers to go with them to adjust the height:

“Optionally, we have 1/4" and 3/8" spacers available for bump stop height tuning.”

Maybe to also prevent bottoming out if they still squish all the way to stock height? I don’t know. You may want to call and ask them about that just to make sure.

exactly, it's so you use your bumpstops as they're intended, instead of using your shock as a bumpstop and ruining your shocks. ideally, you cycle your suspension and measure everything out, then you can figure how much (if any) to adjust your bumpstops. having said that, throw away those stock bumpstops and get something else to replace those rocks.

These new ones will go toward the rear of the lower control arms (per Wheelers) so the ones in front (pictured) remain in place. I saw some other options from Timbren but they were $225 :eek2:

I ran Wheeler's super bumps on my Tacoma and they were nice. granted, we don't do any jumping or high-speed wheeling in Hawai'i, but they soften the hits if you put your truck in a rut. I actually have my Tacoma super bumps on my Tundra now (even though Wheeler's said there's "stiffer" rear ones for Tundra's), but haven't hit them hard yet. I couldn't justify the Timbren price either, but I'm sure they're worth it. you can get a full Wheeler's super bump set for the half the price of a Timbrens set :bananadead:

Coachbuilder spacers, are they really necessary? I've got an '08 CrewMax, I'm putting 6112's @1.9 with 5100's in the rear with CB +2 shackles. I've heard lots of differing opinions. Is the lean really that noticable?

When I measured, the lean was 1/4” to 1/2”, depending on how level the ground was. But I could never tell, meaning the lean was never noticeable to me.

That's good to hear. I don't think it will be noticable enough to query about it. I asked coachbuilder about it but I haven't heard back yet.

It would be nice if someone could compile a checklist for parts for this set up and make a sticky. I got the 6112/5160 on top setting. I went ahead and got UCA's (may or may not be needed), toytec shackles (hopefully will have a slight rake) and might get the 3 shims for the driver side lean and also the carrier drop kit (also may not be needed). Am I missing anything?

So I have mine set at 1.9" and no shims or anything to the rear besides 5160. I'm currently running 275/70r18 Trail Grapplers on stock TRD OR wheels. I'm wanting to step up to 295/70r18 anybody run this size at 1.9"? Also contemplating SCS Ray10 (+25) or Methods (+18).
