Yep, but what's the price tag? You get what you pay for - but consider what you can do to a Tundra suspension wise for $5-10k and how comparable it becomes, for less money.

TRD Pro competes with the Rebel, AT4, and Tremor package. Not the TRX and Raptor.

I will never own another Ford again, and the ram is an overpriced letdown. $90k really?

Exactly. The Pro is not meant to compete with the Raptor/TRX. In the segment it’s designed for it does well.

At a 25-50% premium, they both should outperform a Pro in every category, IMO. Would be interesting to see Toyota compete in this segment, but that doesn't seem likely. It' still boggles my mind that people drop $70k+ on a truck.

I've owned two vehicles with air ride and as a result I will never own another unless it's an over the road tractor with a 16 liter engine.

Theres a reason a ton of Tundra generation 1s and 2s are still out there wheeling, Tundras are made for the long haul. My buddys raptor is pretty no doubt, but hes had so many problems with it. No thanks...My 2016 Pro will outlive both of those 2020's and I beat the crap up out of mine.

It's funny that the market these trucks as offroad vehicles because once you take it offroad and into the dirt the warranty is voided. I know a guy that had a first gen Raptor. He was down in Baja and blew up the transfer case while scouting spots to take pictures for a race. After a trailside conversion to 2wd he was able to get it back home. He took it to the dealership to get it fixed and warrantied. The dealership refused to fix it as he used the vehicle off highway thus voiding the warranty.

If you really plan on using one of these trucks for purely offroad only use, get a side by side for half the price or an older four seat buggy.

Never did like the Raptor anyway. The TRX is just VIOLENCE on four wheels. Would love to play with one for the weekend, but no way I would drop the $ to own one. I have $46K in my 2019 PRO and she does everything I need her to do, and more.

OP sparky has posted other threads about swapping to a raptor. He's clearly a Ford bot here trying to indoctrinate us. We are too loyal and woke for that.

    Style over substance.

I hope Toyota does the opposite and doubles, triples, and quadruples down on not having the latest, coolest, stupidest tech in their cars and trucks. That is at least until its thoroughly tested and proven.

The Raptors and TRX's of the world bring enthusiasm to the brand. No argument there.

However from vehicle resale, length of ownership, average miles, and every reliability statistic ever invented Toyota is still mopping the floor with all other OEMs.

If Toyota did something like a Raptor or TRX it would signal a shift in culture that reflects a bad new direction for the company.

You have to wonder what--exactly--the point of this post was on a Tundra board. Trolls be trolling. If the OP wants a Raptor or TRX, he should go get one instead of posting about it... especially since his Tundra likely has retained its high resale value. I'm sure a Ford or Dodge/Ram dealership would be happy to take the trade-in.

Shoot man. I bought an SR5 just so I could do what I NEED done to it. Not too much, not too little.

Heck, before I latched on to this truck, I contemplated buying a cheap F150 with a V8 and sending it to PaxPower to have them completely covert it to a Raptor with OEM parts and STILL come out ~10k better than buying one off the floor. There’s simply no reason to drop so much money on a truck just because.

I really like the idea of a truck that is capable of hitting the trails straight out of the factory... that said I don’t know if could let myself ever buy a Ford, and I know for certain I won’t ever buy a dodge  But if Toyota would come up with a flared fender, high quality off-road shock, 35” tire package that didn’t ride like a pogo stick down the freeway I’d sure appreciate it.

Ya gotta admit that the option of 37's from factory is pretty sweet. As you're waiting for the tow truck, you can crawl out of your new raptor, and stare and admire your sexy new meats on all 4 corners. You'll likely have time to run your fingers over those beautiful fender flares, look at the upgraded uci's and shocks and maybe even look at the cool toys they have in the cabin. Of course, it'll be broken down so the toys won't actually work. But they'll look super-cool!

If ford (and ram) want to impress me, what they really need to do is offer upgraded road-side assistance where they send the luxury tow truck to pull you to the dealership. You know, given you'll be on a first-name basis with your driver. Call it an upgrade on the higher trim levels.

I just purchased a 2021 Tundra, coworker a F150, both within the last month. Guess which one has had theirs in the dealership twice already and is currently driving a courtesy car because of misfiring cylinders?

    Hint: not me.

Aren't we all driving glorified SR5's seeing as how that is the base model of the Tundra?
