    Good morning, guys,

I'm needing to relocate the control pack for my winch into the engine compartment. Do you guys know any good resources for buying 2 or 3 AWG automotive-grade cable in bulk? Google search brought me to this site, but I don't know anything about them:

After doing more research, it looks like I can go "down" to 4 AWG with my winch's peak amperage being 380 over a distance of 6 feet. Do you guys feel like the following chart is accurate for the real world?

May want to check Amazon for welding cable. Apparently it is as good or better than marine or auto wire. 10 ft lengths are easy to find.

Edit: I have this in my saved cart on Amazon.

A little late to the party here. I relocated my Smittybilt X20 10k control pack under the hood on top of my fuse box with a Blue Seas battery switch. All on a piece my friend fabricated. Same friend helped me weld in a winch plate to my bumper and install the winch.

I actually ended up asking a good friend of mine that builds Jeep buggies and stuff on what he does. He told me to go to HF or somewhere and just buy heavy duty jumper cables and tear them down. So that’s what I did. The shop all the work was performed in is an electrical company so I was fortunate to use a badass hydraulic crimper.

Nice crimps, heat shrink, military terminals and marked each cable end with color matched tape; pretty sweet setup.

How many amperage did you use for this switch? I want to do this too so just wanted to get things squared away.
