Anyone got some insight on what might have happened with this? Looks like someone torched or cut a section of the LCA? Looks like the shock was interfering. Knew I shouldn’t of bought a truck with a leveling kit lmao. Oh well fool me once. Wish I’d seen it before a 1600 mile round trip I just did, but made it back in one piece

pic’s of everyone else’s LCA at the shock anchor point would be helpful.

looking like I’ll need to buy some new LCA’s when I remove this god forsaken leveling kit. What do you all think about the ball joints and tie rods? Should I replace em all same time? I’m thinking might as well since I’ll have it all torn apart, and keep these ones in the garage.

    thanks boys!

Is it road salt rusting the metal? LCAs usually come with ball joints already pressed in them. You have a leveling kit with pro suspension?

This is a TRD Pro- 2019- forgot to add. It didn’t have the fox shocks installed aftermarket. It does have a strut spacer on it, but it’s only 2”. That’s where I’m getting confused. 2” plus the fox sitting higher (what, 2”??) from what I’ve read, the OEM control arms should work. No idea what really was done to it before I bought it- but I bought it planning on removing the lift when I had time. Just noticing this today.

It’s from Ohio and it’s now in Michigan- so it’s whole like has been in salt- but it’s clear that something in the control arm was notched or cut out, but to for sure know, a picture of someone’s 2019+ at the same angle would be helpful to compare.

I always thought the pros came leveled. So from the sounds of it there is a two inch spacer. The guy just wanted to lift it a little. So you are going to remove the spacers and replace the control arms and that should get you back to stock? Seems like a good plan. As far are the tie rod ends and ball joints ...I see no reason to replace them. The rubber looks good and they are only a couple of years old.

Looks like its definitely been nibbled a bit with a torch, also burning the paint off in the process, hence the rust in that area. Here's some of my 19 without the Pro shocks. Hope this helps.

You seem to have stumbled into a bit of a bad deal.
I would definitely replace all of the associated components and the arms when you remove the crappy lift. The previous owner had his head in his ask.
    Good luck!

Dang dude that's sketch! I would think new lower control arms would be a good insurance policy and while you're under there, changing the balljoints might not be a half bad idea.

Maybe with the level kit when at full drop the shock is rubbing that part of the control arm. Enough rubbing with the rust and it started to wear away.

Here are pics from my 2019 PRO. Hope this helps you. The 2019 TRD PRO does come with FOX Shocks from the factory. Your CV joints look VERY unhappy, way to much angle on them. Poor geometry will destroy those CV's. Looks like they cut the LCA's to allow room for the shock angle after the shade tree lift job. Bad choice. Good luck buddy.

thanks bad cow- appreciate you crawling under the rig for some pics. Seeing a 2019 pro stock would be very helpful, though your pictures haven’t came thru yet- will keep an eye on it
