Yes, you have to remove the entire grille, surround and a few panel pieces under the headlights.

Ok thanks... what would you describe as the degree of difficulty? I'm rather handy tools but not to technical lol.

Lots of YouTube videos on it.

It is fairly easy to do, but you have to go slow and be cautious as the Grille Surround tabs can be easily broken.

You don't remove the grille surround. I think you are referring to the tabs on the grille. I have had mine off several times. Just work slow and start from passenger side. There are posts on removing the grille. Be careful on panel pieces. They have little clips on the bottom back side.

Be careful with all the plastic bits. ESPECIALLY in cold weather. It makes it brittle.

You don't have to remove the Grille Surround from the Grille, but the tabs are still delicate.

Yeah, my wording was off. The insert does not need to be removed from the surround, but the entire unit does need to be removed as a whole from what I know.

I've done mine a few times too, it's fairly easy once you figure out where to stick your hand down behind it and release the tab pressure on the lower tabs by hand first. No loud snaps or need to yank anything when you release the pressure on those ones. A lot less scary.

They don't make it easy on us. Below is the video I used to guide me through our 2019 Swap.

Yep, don't pull on the surround. Curious why the OP wants to change bulbs. Are all 2021 models LEDs?

No, not all '21s are LED.
