Is that a movie based on the Roald Dahl book? I'll have to check that out..

As far as that space: place 1-2 neck buffs there, then set sunglasses and all sorts of stuff up there without worry of it sliding (even during light off-roading).

They're basically a gaitor/bandana type deal (Buff might be a company name I believe). They work good for wind/sun when fishing and have been riding my dash since before face coverings were cool. They keep my shades from sliding all over. I'll try to snap a pic later.

Pretty sure folks around here only wear those as an alternative to a mask. Never seen one before the pandemic.

My OCD definitely applies to my truck. I don't want anything on the seats, dash, cubby's or floor board. I make use of the glove box, console and under the back seat storage. A bunch of loose stuff, shoved here and there makes my BP go up.

    YMMV

They've been around forever before that. There are fleece ones that are good for cold weather for one option. Also popular for dust control when out in a SxS or dirt bike. For the crazy people who ride bikes without full face helmets they are used to keep the windchill off your face.

Oh yeah, neck warmers I'm familiar with but not these skinny things. I guess I hang out in the wrong crowds.

I am to short to put anything in there, as it would be in my line of site for driving... So, it will remain a blank canvas!

That space is arguably a lot more useful than this clip. What even is supposed to go here? A couple of business cards? A few folded bills for road tolls? The various recreational passes I carry (state parks, etc.) are all too large and do not fit.

Holds those shades up no problem. My boy even yells "Ricky Bobby!" and I have to oblige at times.

I do like @Funnyguy713 answer though as well:hattip:

The part is labelled as a "Business card holder" in some documentation I read somewhere. Don't know if it was Roman's store or the owner manual.

I've only ever used it for toll tickets, but would be interested in what alternative uses it may have.

There's a clip inside the centre console for passes.

A parking garage ticket seems like maybe the sole use for that clip.

Wonder what designers were thinking for 2nd gen. There s a a cubby of sorts, but it s area is a mesh screen, like it s for ventilation or maybe a center channel speaker location.

Yes there is some sort of mesh grille there but I have no idea what it's for. I haven't tried to listen to it to see if any sound comes out out it. I'll have to look it up.
