IIRC, it's free to become a member. I became one sometime last year apparently because I'm getting membership mail.

So yes, if your looking to make a purchase as such and save huge - pay the $20 and become a member lol

Plus @Cutter29 - dont forget your 10% yesr end dividend. Making your new total savings closer to $550 than $390 :)

I just bought the same RTT yesterday and used my 2016 dividend on top of the 20% off and paid less than $1000 on the 3 person Kukenam Ruggedized. What a bargain for a badass tent!!

Man... The timing is all wrong for this. I don't currently have any spare cash... :( I HATE being financially responsible...

It's way overrated. That's why I take breaks from responsibility on a regular basis

Not 100% sure but I think they offer the 20% a few times a year.

It wouldn't make sense for everyone but it certainly does for those of us that like to sleep comfortably, efficiently set up and break down camp, and want it for overall cool stuff

There is a CVT group buy going on over on TW. REI only offers a couple models of Tepui

I can't speak to that question but some people are die hard CVT and some people love their Tepui. I wasn't dead set on either when I purchased. I just know that MOST of the specs are similar at the level of tent I bought. I've never had an RTT before. I've always had either big cheap Wal-Mart tents for family car camping, or seriously badass light backpacking tents. This one seems to be middle of the road but I couldn't pass up almost $1000 off so I pulled the trigger.

Bottom line..they are probably very similar in quality. I read that CVT's typically come with the annex on higher end tents and you have to get a specific style with Tepui to get the annex with it
