Here’s what a Fab Fours Matrix bumper looks like in a 6.5’ DC bed. I thought I knew good packaging when I saw it - nah. So, yeah, that’s on 3x6 double pallets and wrapped in quadruple ply cardboard, not to mention the foam wrapping and cotton blankets inside. Will be proud to have this on my truck and will be looking for more incredible high quality FF products in the future!

I have their premium rear bumper and love it. I’ve been trying to decide on a front bumper. Post pics when you get it installed please.

For sure! I was bolting up the internal 30” light bar tonight, but I have a minor bracket mod to do. They recommended Rigid brand, but I just can’t do $900 for a light bar that I’m only going to use a dozen times a year, so I went with Aries for a fraction of the price. I’ll post the whole story when I’m closer. Still waiting on fog and secondary off-road light pods (it takes up to two pairs of 3” pods). This is a winch bumper, but I’m trying to hold off on that addition until Fall, if reinstalling stuff isn’t too painful. If it looks precarious to do later, I’ll just pull the trigger and knock it out.

@tttrdpro, sorry for the delay! I just wanted to drop in here and let you know that I found out how little I knew about truck lighting, but have made those corrections now. It’s been a journey, to say the least!
I also picked up a Smitty 97495 winch to put in there also and have to make my own control pack relocation kit to get it in the engine bay where I want it. I don’t off-road enough to justify a Warn purchase, but a benefit is they come with their own relo kits if you’re willing to lay out the samoleons for their Zeon and other winch lines.
Anyway, I’ll be able to get back on the actual bumper-mounting project next weekend when the rest of the cables and odds and ends get here.
I promise a detailed write up here to help you and others if I can. FF product is very well thought out and still top rate, I’ve just had to do some bracket fabrication on my own to get things like I want them (i.e., overbuilt).

FabFours Matrix Bumper with Aries 30” light bar, Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro Selective Yellows and a second pair of SS3 Max Selective Yellows with clear Driving Combo Lenses. Smoke covers on all the pods to keep them stealthy and safe (you really gotta zoom in to see them in the wing there). Inside center is a Smittybilt 97495 XRC winch with roller fairlead. I’m a little worried about the fairlead ground clearance (13”), but we’ll see if I go to a Hawse. Last details in the mail still are a Factor55 Prolink replacement for the Clevis hook with a 14,000# Shackle and a pair of Smittybilt Shackles for the D rings. Oh yeah, and wiring of the Switch Pro would be helpful so I could actually USE the lights. :p

I was going for high and tight with the deer guard in front but never could get there - nothing out there totally appealed to me. Also wanted steel upfront, but not the diamond plate overkill job. But found this fine piece of craftsmanship from FabFours. This 3/16” bumper protrudes 10” in front of the emblem, qualifying me for the oversized parking lot at work. Will have to see if it interferes with TSS.

Never thought I’d be at this point, but bumper is on the damn truck! I got really bogged down due to putting the winch, light bar and pod lights in the critical path of the install. My approach was to bolt up and prewire as much as I could pre-bumper mounting and this came at a big time deficit.

This was a fun adventure of a job for me and I have so many people to thank. First, thanks to everyone in the forum for helping keep me straight and getting what I wanted for my build.

I will miss people here, but a few call outs are in order. First, @memario1214 told me what I needed early on and gave me enough rope to do my research and come to my own conclusion, which resembled almost verbatim what he’d initially posted. crashnburn80 over on the Taco forum answered all my noob questions and provided unbiased, pertinent and practical advice via his incredibly detailed posts and helpful PM’d advice.

Best of all, several guys in the forum were direct enough with me to make me return the Baja Designs lights I’d bought early on and go after Diode Dynamics. Thanks!

Externally, the guys over at batterycablesusa.com created three perfectly assembled 2AWG cables for the remote winch control pack. I even ordered the wrong lug on one end and all they said was, “Just mail it back and we’ll make it right.” Even FedEx’d it back to me at no charge. ‘Merica!

The support folks over at Smittybilt gave me some ASAP advice when I lost the disassembly photos for wiring the control pack correctly. They were also very encouraging that I was manually building a relocation design for their control pack rather than the robotic bs about “this will void your warranty, blah blah blah.” Very refreshing.

Last, Amber over at FabFours got me some additional machined brackets for the LED pod lights at no charge. Needed the brackets in addition to what they supplied due to the custom pod install.

So many more pictures and explanations to post here, but here’s the start. Make it a great Sunday out there guys!
