Looks better without those things, especially the flares. Isopropyl Alcohol may be enough to take the adhesive off, but strips any wax too although it sounds like you're not going to be concerned too much about shine. Otherwise the eraser wheel seems like it would work.

You can't beat that deal... even I thought I paid more than I should have, but I'm very happy 3+ years after the fact. The $900.00 tax I had to pay at registration was unexpected, but $5900.00 out the door still looks good today - even with 270,000 miles at purchase. 297,000 today, and it is worth more than I have in it.

If you take care of it (I know you will), your 4x4 is never really going to depreciate.

Off the wall question... has anyone converted their 4x2 RCSB to a 4x4?

AWD would be even better for my needs.

I don't regret it. Paid cash, done deal. The market here (probably everywhere) is crazy for anything with 4wd.

I think it still has plenty of life even with 200k. The last beater I had was an F150. It was fun, but there was always something broken on it. I considered finding a 99-06 chevy 1500, but the tundra is just beefier in every way. More electronic bs on the tundra though, so we'll see how that holds up.

I don't think the mechanical part would be all that hard. I believe the front suspension is all the same, minus the front axles. Hard part would be the wiring. At minimum a pcm reflash, or a 4x4 pcm. I wonder if the wiring harness is the same.

I've read that others have made the inquiry about their 2x4 DC/CM trucks. The consensus was too mucho dinero.

I just sold my 2wd and turned it into a 4wd truck instead!

I bought some steel this week. Going to start working on a front bumper and later a headache rack.

That would get ripped off and adds width.

I probably should have said I dont need a snorkel. I dont plan to go in water that deep, but maybe deep enough to splash over the hood. I dont trust the fender liner to keep water and sand out of the intake.

When I cleaned the air box this afternoon there was some sand in the bottom from last weekend. I've been looking in some of the threads from some of the guys running in the desert out west. They either have a snorkel or dont seem to do anything for the intake. :monocle:

I'll have to pull the fender off and and see if I can loop a piece of 4" pvc through there.

Something in the rear is making uncomfortable banging noises. Sounds like its coming from the rear axle. I was thinking maybe the spider gears stripped, but I'm reading now about the carrier pin wallowing and walking out.

I have an inspection camera. I wonder if i can see the carrier though the drain plug in the axle without having to pull the third member out. :monocle:
