Cost me $65 and a couple hours of work. I feel it was well worth it.

It comes with a harness that you run up the passenger side into the floor (through factory body plug) then run it up under the dash/center console to the factory harness behind the factory bedlight switch/driver's kick panel.

Does it tie into the existing cargo lamp switch or does it use a separate switch to operate?

Uses factory switch. Connects using a T-tap for power and ground.

Where did you get the lights?

I was thinking of lights that go under the bed rail.

I'm looking at doing something similar, but with LED strips. The kit I was looking at comes with a switch, so I'm trying to figure out if I want to wire it into the cargo light or find a constant power source so I can turn it on and off at the bed when I want to instead of having to keep a door open or flip the switch in the cab to get it to stay on.

To me it was just easiest wiring it up to the cargo light. Unlocking the doors with the fob makes the lights come on, so you don't actually have to open the door or flip the switch on the dash.

I didn't even think about that. That would be easy and I don't have to worry about leaving them on.
