1970 RS Z28 Camaro. It was an original Z car I got it from my neighbor two houses down who bought it new. It was hugger orange with white stripes LT1 M22 and a 12 bolt rear with 3.90 gears. I have some old poloroid pics somewhere I'd have to scan.

Drivers test in FL. I too was blessed with the awesomeness of the 1987 automatic Toyota Van (AKA The Mystery Machine). Was my bday gift when I turned 16. Worst driving, bounce you to death, beating ride ever. Funny thing is now I want one again to rebuild and collect. They are pretty tough to find in decent shape and I'd imagine finding parts would be very difficult.

Got mine with a 87 Grand National. My mother did not want me to mess up the family car and volunteered my dad to take me in his. Cool thing is that he was not in the car and the licensor want to feel the power. So after the parallel parking he asked me who much power does it have. You can figure out what myself and the licensor did, yes I floored it. I had a big smile when I got back to DMV and my dad asked "How did it go?". The licensor immediately responded "He did very well that's to include the car" LOL.

It would fly but...it would not turn or stop. Sloppy suspension and seriously skinny tires. Most of my friends had cool cars (MGB, TR6, 914, Spitfire, 240Z, etc) the difference was mine started most of the time and the AC worked. When I bought a Celica mine started all the time.

My $250 57 Dodge truck. By the way...my friend in Japan had the same van. 1984. We went to a beer garden in Tokuyama. Closed the beer garden. Some of us Jarheads slept on the roof. Not enough for all of us sleep inside. I was of one of them that slept on the roof. Must have looked pretty crazy to the Japanese locals driving by the next morning. What can I say? I was young. Ooo Rahhhhh.

Got my license in a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. It was a standard back in the seventies. It was a hassle parallel parking on a hill with a manual transmission.

I did my road test in my Dad's '93 GMC K2500HD extended cab with a 6.2L diesel and 5spd manual. The truck had a big high-top aluminum canopy on it, with a camper style rear door, so rear visibility was via mirrors only. I could parallel park that beast like a boss, partly because I'd been driving on our property since the age of 11. The day of my road test, we'd had freezing rain overnight, so it wasn't hard to get it sideways even in 4wd, with good winter rubber and weight in the back. An hour's drive got us go town without in incedent, a couple last minute trial runs, and off to the appointment. Only to have the examiner declare that it was too dangerous to parallel park in those conditions, or any if the other parts requiring skilz, so my road test was pretty lame. He'd have pooped himself if I'd taken him on our road that day - 35km of narrow, winding skating rink along a mountainside with a lake below.
