I’ve done a little research but wanted to check here for better results. Towing 600+ miles from OR to WY in winter with our 29ft trailer should be an experience. Outside of obviously using 2WD in dry conditions can I still tow and possibly engage 4WD when the conditions deteriorate? Biggest concern is the traction with the added length behind me. I’m not a fan of the current Terra Grapplers I have on my truck in snowy conditions - but that’s a whole different post...

Yes you can tow in 4wd as needed. Only use 4wd when required and keep speed down- there are details in your owners manual about that. You dont want to be blasting 80MPH on they highway in 4wd for hours.

Towing- slow, smooth and steady wins.

Info says you're from Wyoming. Is this correct? If so, then you know how dangerous WY is in the winter.:eek2:
    Be safe!

Thanks for the reply. Personally, towing isn’t an issue and snow isn’t an issue. Just the first time I’ve towed anything THIS big in potentially serious winter conditions. Not planning on setting any speed records this time

Keep the gas topped up just in case you run across a road closure or accident.

Don't forget chains for the trailer. You will get held up on a highway if towing a trailer without chains.
