    From Fox's website:
"Position-sensitive damping allows for an initial plush ride and progressively increases in firmness through the damper's stroke."

The more you compress the shock the more firm it gets. Not sure what that would do 2" above the stock position in the stroke. Almost sounds to me like it would be softer than at stock height. They also state on the TRD site that these shocks increase rear travel "over two inches".

Anyone have the rear lifted 2-3" inches in the rear with the stock Fox shocks?

Seems like everyone running the coach builder pro package would be running about that much lift. Might want to ask your question in that thread.

Who here has swapped out their factory leaf springs for a set of Dakar and kept their factory Pro shocks. How did it work out?

The coach builder pro package will lift the backend up 1.75" not 2-3". If you are keeping the Pro suspension I think you are at its limits or very close to it at 1.75" (above stock height). It would be a nice easy solution if you could put on a set of Dakar leaf springs (raising that backend up 2.5") but I am doubtful it's possible (without causing damage over time to the shock).

I need to do something to the backend to help with the added weight and also give my truck some rake. I feel like I'm going to have to get a set made or do an add-a-leaf setup at the end of the day. I'm not into the idea of shackles or blocks.

Hey all - new to the forum and know this is an old post but just picked up a 2017 trd pro. I have a shell and carry a moto on a hitch carrier every 2-3 weeks and when i do I notices she's squating. After reading this thread it sounds like the OP found added springs AND shackles was the best solution for sagging due to payload? Curious if I should start with just springs or just the shackle? Or if I should do both at the same time... Any info appreciated!

If you add shackles only, you are opening yourself up to the potential of inverting your stock leafs before they hit the bump stop. That’s all taller shackles do—put more distance between the frame and the bump stop.

I would do RAS. Actually I did do RAS. I have the OEM Pro suspension with RAS in the rear. It’s great. Around $500, and easily adjustable to your static load.

Looks like great solution. Straight forward and affordable. How long have you been using them? Are running anything else in the back e.g. shackles, additional springs?

Just the stock TRD Pro suspension and the RAS. Before the RAS I had air bags with daystar cradles and Coachbuilder +2 shackles. I removed the shackles (kept the greasable bushings) and the airbags. Now I just have the RAS. Oh, and I went to DuroBump bump stops when I put the RAS in. This was a month ago. Check post #80 in my build thread linked in my signature for a full break down.

@alpinepro4 Your setup is great. I'm looking at doing something similar - alcan springs, CB +1, and potentially timbrens. Just wanted to see if your setup is still working well for you, any issues or things you wish you had done differently? I think you mentioned you got alcans to be stock +500lb capacity? You also got the OEM bushings not alcan's Orbit-eye?

My 2015 TRD pro squats about an inch with nothing in the bed at all. Anybody else experience this? I know they’re known to squat with a load but squatting while completely unladen seems kind of pathetic if I’m honest.

Some of our trucks have been known for the leaf springs to lose their 'spring' before they should...

also w/o more info to go off of in terms of service life/duty, etc. kinda hard to point you in a direction, although if you're not happy w/it you may want to consider replacing the springs or adding a something to the setup such as the HD Roadmaster Active Suspension

I am happy to be a broken record for the RAS.

Any settling in the rear leafs after 8 years is going to look like squatting because of the 2" lift up front on the Pro. It is of paramount importance that both wheels stay on the ground in a large truck with an open rear diff. The springs are incredible at their primary job: articulating. But if you use your truck for other truck stuff, you're going to need some reinforcements.

The RAS HD gave me some more rake back and improved my ride on- and off-road. They're incredible. Unless you're looking to do a large, static weight gain (adding a rear bumper, cap, tent, armor, etc) that would require some new leaf packs, I think the RAS will make you very happy. I had airbags on before. Couldn't stand the bouncy feeling when unloaded.

Setup been running like a champ all these years later. Yes, I had the leaf pack built 500lbs over capicity. That was the perfect amount I think. The CB shackles helped as well. I've had the bed full of gear and bikes and no squat all these year later.

After further inspection of my Trd Pro. I’ve noticed that my leafs are almost flat while completely unloaded. If I put any weight in the bed I would almost certainly get axle wrap.
My question is, is RAS sufficient enough to correct this? I don’t want to waste my money on it if it doesn’t give me what I want. I understand it works great for reinforcing the leafs and adding beef to the rear end but will it actually correct leafs that are weakened to the point where they’re almost flat unloaded?

The leafs are nearly flat leaving the factory. The curve in the springs will come from raising up the rear, which is what the RAS will do.

I'm happy with the RAS on my truck. Installed it after adding a topper and decked drawers. Cranked up the HD setup to barely fit both shims together. Gets the rake back and rides very well, no noises, etc.
