Was it hard to swap the insert only? I've heard the reason Sparks only sells the insert with surround as one piece is because it is very easy to break some of the many clips attaching the insert to the surround.

Your experience sounds like mine as well. However, I did "redo" the install, just as you described and that remedied my situation of the non-locking/latching of the 60/40 drivers side seat and the holes alignment...

I do recall seeing a YT video on this. The gentleman had used some flat bar (3/16, I believe) to make a shim to bring the seat back to level...

Best of luck as I sure do enjoy mine!

I swapped mine. It was very tedious, just take your time and use small pry tools.

Glad to hear I'm not alone, but kind of dreading using a big shim like that. 3/16 is not small! I can't below it could be that far off.

Hmmmm. Considering how much work is involved just to access the grille parts, I may go the easy route and just order the complete unit. lol

It’s a lot easier if you have a second person who can hold everything while you focus on the clips. I had to take mine apart to get painted. Had my buddy hold it still while I worked the clips.

Gotcha. Yeah, I'm torn about the whole grille thing. I like the Pro grille but also really like the honeycomb grille. I may wait till I lift the front end, then will swap to the Pro grille IF I have TSS issues with the honeycomb grille.

Yeah, I was 500 miles the first week, but nowhere near your pace.

Mocked up some LEDs to test fit locations for placement.

I swapped mine too. I only broke 2 clips out of the dozen or so that holds it on. There's also 4 screws holding it on too. I sold the leftovers to @Clemshady and he can testify everything's solid even with 2 missing clips. I had my oldest son help with the swap. Here are pics of said clips...20200723_164449.jpg 20200723_164512.jpg 20200731_164618.jpg

Traded in my 17 Tacoma last night and picked up my new Tundra. Ordered a used driver's side grab handle off of ebay this morning. I'm going to need running boards/nerf bars too. Haven't decided which to get yet. Love the truck though!

Changed out the tail lights to a smoked look while keeping it OEM. Almost all of the bulbs were converted to LED. Let's see if I will like them.

Amazon, but I just checked and they are no longer listed. I have been following this seller for a while. They posted a couple of sets for sale and almost as quick they sell out. I was lucky and one day checked.....they had 3 listed for sale, so I jumped on it. Here is the listing. Keep it on your list and check it. It shows the OEM red, but they will usually add the smoked option.
