I have TracRac first gen sliding racks. There's a local wheel and dealer that sells them down in MA. The racks with the powdercoat job ran about $1050 ($700 for racks, $350 for PC). A new set from Thule is $1550 and the cantilever on the new gen is 1.5" higher than the back two rails and is useless for what I use them for. You can get the rails with a third track for a tonneau cover (I didn't because I don't need one). One of my buddies that I fly with has the same setup on his 2017 Tundra, but with the tonneau cover on his.
My 'yaks fit up top and I use Vitamin Blue oversized rack pads but the primary use is to transport my hang glider, which is about 16ft long. Keeps the bed open for all the other shit I haul and the back rack slides forward out of the way when I'm not using it.

Had a thule roof rack on my Tacoma, noisy as all hell. 1/10, would not recommend.

RCI 18" rack works great for kayaks. Also great for holding a canoe - heading on a 4 day+ TRD with RCI and canoe.jpg trip to the Adirondacks on Weds. I love that I have the entire bed to pack coolers, tent, etc.

I use a bed extender when carrying two kayaks. I'd like a rack to go on the rear of the cab and one to go on the rear of the bed, allowing me to open the front bed panel of my diamondback cover.

I also have a Maxxhaul Hitch Mount Truck Bed Extender for when I want to carry just one or two kayaks. It allows me to carry my 14 footers with no problem in the bed of the truck with the Diamondback HD cover closed and the tailgate down. When needed I mount it vertically from the hitch and use one of my Yakima racks on the rear of the cab for longer kayaks or canoes.

How long are your kayaks in this picture? I have a 12' and at 16' kayak. Will this arm work with two kayaks? If you have a picture looking into the truck bed can you post it? Thanks.

this kayak is 12'6" it's also very wide since it's a fishing kayak. 34" wide. Yes, it works with 2 kayaks, the pad goes over the entire length of the arm, so a kayak fits on each side of the hitch. I fit mine and my boss's kayak in there, he didn't have a fishing kayak, so it was more narrow, if you tried to put 2 in that were my width, you'd probably have to slightly angle them, but with 2 normal kayaks or 1 fishing and 1 normal you wont have any problem. Also comes with a long load flag so that's nice as well.

@Tundra-dude I should also mention that having the diamondback makes it extremely easy to store while out on the water. Gives me peace of mind that no one is gonna mess with my stuff when I can completely lock it away in the bed, if that's not possible for you, yakima makes a lock that goes over the end of the pin in the hitch that you need a key to unlock it with. Won't stop someone who really wants to steal the longarm, but will deter most people.

    Nice setup!
I'm also thinking to go the same way (Thule XSporster), so I can lower it to 8 or 10 inches and be able to carry an extra bicycle.

I fabbed up some aluminum flat bar mounts for my Oak Orchard Canoe style J-Cradles so that I could attach them to my new roof rack. This works great for me when I just want to take one or two kayaks and not use my 6-up Continental kayak trailer. It can be difficult finding parking for the truck and trailer at some of the put-ins during the cool weather busy season in Florida and also allows me to use the receiver bike hitch. I can even mount my 14 foot Wilderness System Pungos up top and not interfere with my RTT, even though this time we took our 12 footers. I used soft mounts for the bow lines under the hood to avoid any chafing and attached the stern lines to my Diamondback HD cleats.

10 foot. I've got 2 12 foot pedal drives I hang out like that now. Just keep a red bandana tied to it so it's legal in ca. Took those 10 footers everywhere like that for years tho

Right now it rests on one of my wife's yoga mats in the bed of the truck (shhhh....). I ordered a cheap rubber bed mat that I can trim to fit.
