Hi Guys - Brand new guy here so please be gentle. :)

I promised that I searched for this answer but could not find anything definitive. I am in the process of doing upgrades to the interior (leather seats), audio upgrade and sound deadening. When I started the project I disconnected the battery. However I failed to ensure all of the windows were up and my question is if I were to temporarily hook the battery back up with the seats removed would I be risking throwing an airbag code? Obviously once the window was closed I would disconnect the battery again before proceeding. I appreciate your help.

    Welcome to the forum.

I think I did that when I pulled everything out for my sound deadening.
I know I did it working on audio because I usually pull the passenger seat out to have access to my amp.
I've taken drives or runs to the store with the passenger seat out.

The air bag light came on, but I don't think it left a code that didn't resolve itself when I connected everything back.

Hopefully someone with more technical knowledge can chime in..

Should be fine. I never disconnect that battery when i remove the seats. Just turn the key 1 click.

I’ve installed many leather interiors and have never disconnected the battery. Even driven with both front seats out sitting on a crate. Airbag light will come on while seat is unplugged but it won’t throw a code.

stew, your definitely going to log a disruption when you boot the truck back up with out the YELLOW Plug connected under the front seat.
If you dont have anyone to clear the SRS fault, then slip the seat back in tilt it back and connect the Yellow connector then boot the truck and close the windows and such.

    Thanks for the input guys.
If I'm feeling dangerous when I go home tonight I might go for Danimal's "one click" trick. If I'm feeling a little more conservative I'll go with RDKing's suggestion and hog those things back in the truck for a minute and pull them back out. I do feel that I'm temping fate a bit going with that plan though since I escaped without any scratches the first time. If I discover one of the alternate options works without tripping anything I'll report back. Thanks again.

    Welcome from NY.
You can connect the battery, the airbag light will be on and once they are reconnected the light will go off and no codes will be thrown.

Connect the battery and put the key in the door from the outside, hold it to the left (or maybe the right?) And it will roll your windows up or down, no need to use the ignition  this comes in handy when I leave my sunroof vented and don't wanna jump back in the truck to close it.

I know that if you have power seats (I have a platinum) and you connect or disconnect the seats while the battery is connected, you may have to reprogram the seat's travel. Which means bringing it to a dealership to just plug a laptop in and run the programming cycle for the seats. I had to do a lot of driving and a lot of audio work on my truck. what I did was free up some of the seat's wiring and I left the seats in the truck at all times, just unbolt and tip them back for access. I would disconnect them when I did disconnect the battery, but I didn't want to constantly be resetting things and disconnecting the battery a 100x. Also wanted to be driving with the passenger seat in place for tuning.
I never had to worry about a code or the reprogram. I worked and drove the truck like that for 2 years until I finished the system. It worked like a charm.

I thought I would follow-up, although greatly delayed. I ended up trying the suggestion from Danimal (One click on the ignition). At least in my truck (2019 DC Sport) I needed to go to the second position to activate the windows, which I did without the seats installed. Got the window up, disconnected the battery again, finished the install and reconnected everything with no codes or drama. Honestly would have liked the suggestion from Sumo91 (using the door lock) but I had already went with the ignition route. Thanks again to everyone who chimed in, truly appreciated.
