I have a 2006 Tundra Double Cab 4x4 that is currently leveled. I want to do a small lift in the rear (no more than 1 inch) and was wondering how much actual lift do you get from a 1 inch block? Should I use 1/2 inch shims instead? Any replies on your experiences with your 1st gen Tundra would be greatly appreciated.

I can't stress this enough....don't quote me here but I believe a simple block in the back will be 1:1. The front leveling pucks are generally not 1:1 due to suspension geometry. I wouldn't use the shims, I'd just get a taller block and have just one piece sitting in there. What size block do you currently have?

I’m no engineer, but if you stand on a 1 inch block you too would be 1 inch taller

As mentioned, on the rear, 1 inch block =1 inch of lift.

One other thing to consider is if your rear shock can accommodate the additional inch when fully extended. If not, there is a potential of topping out, which may lead to the shock breaking at its weakest point. If you don't go wheeling then this is not too much of an issue.

I know this may seem like a dumb question but this is the first truck that I've lifted and I didn't find anything in the forums that really answered my question. I put on the Bilstein 5100's on my truck with the front set on the 4th notch. (According to Bilstein it's supposed to be 1.6" but it actually lifted it 2") Which is why I asked this question, I didn't know if I was gonna have the same effect on the rear. Thanks for the replies.

You’ve done good Ricky. Stick around and share your work with some pics.

Just a heads up that some Front Coils on our trucks are the TRD Package and may give differing results in heights. If you have Aftermarket Coils, that changes things as well. Seems like lifts/etc isn’t exact science, but more of an Art on our trucks.

Got it done, just stock tires on it but I’m happy with how it looks.

Is this a common core math problem, and will it be on the test?

the question on the test will be much more related to how the lift block identifies, not really on how many inches tall it is.

Dead stock with oem 16" starfish wheels. We'll see how long that lasts. :) Topper of unknown origin.
As pointed out, it's not a dumb question. Front suspensions are rarely a 1:1 ratio of spacer and lift because of the levers involved. The rear is usually more straightforward but suspension is a mystery to me in general so I'd probably ask the same question.

    Nice truck, OP!
