Super easy with a self tapping metal screw. Solid as can be. That’s with the seat in full back position. Hides nicely under where I typically sit position.

Hey, not all is lost at least you spelled grille correctly. That doesn’t happen too often on the forum... :boink: :fistbump:

Kidding aside, good job for seeing the mod through. Perhaps, you’ll enjoy the feature in time. I do.

It is nice...way better than before.
With the windows up and volume on about 25-30...it’s perfect. No outside noise until I’m on the gas from 2nd to 3rd...then the DD exhaust speaks up just loud enough to remind me it’s still there!

I just ordered the rear sub replacement. Should be delivered tomorrow hopefully. I hope it’s as good as people say. First thing I noticed when I test drove my truck was the crappy sound quality from the JBL system.

Is there a benefit to doing the Kilmat AND foam? Or did you figure you might as well do it all while you had it apart?

    Both.
The sound deadening mats (kilmat, dynamite, etc...anything butyl based) will help kill a lot of the vibrations..from outside road noise and door panel parts. Things that just make ‘white noise’ that interfere with the speaker sounds.
For example; when I tapped on the outer side of the door, you could hear a audible ting/ring. After applying the matting inside the door, the same tap and the sound is dead instantly.
I think you could probably use just the mats and be fine. But the foam does help...especially on the floor and back wall...and the plastic door panels too!
And yes, since I took it all apart, I figured do it all. I’ve always been a buy once cry once type, yet I’m also a big DIY and custom guy too.

The foam really is the added layer of ‘sound proofing’. There are other all-in-one products now days like Soundskins. And there are yet others that will put MLV on the doors too. The door panels fit and snapped back on fine, although they’re much tighter. I couldn’t imagine having a sheet of MLV on the door on top of everything else. But I digress.

I did not do the roof, but will eventually. For the roof, I’m planning on the kilmat and then melamine foam sheet (which I think is by Soundskins) instead of the Noico.

Got my bed lights installed, my power tailgate lock installed, my gun magnet mounted in the console safe, switched out the reverse and brake lights for Auxito LEDs, and got my home-made shifter console switch plate done.

Finally finished tucking everything in on my steering wheel wrap yesterday. Only had to use the tape in one little place, and I didn’t have to remove any portion of the trim pieces around the wheel!
Thanks to my Secret Santa for this awesome upgrade

The next mod is to take that monthly payment I would have made for the next 2 months and order new sneakers for the Tundra. Stocks are ok, but not so good on the snow.
