I have recently ran into a problem with my 2020 Tundra DC LTD in cold weather. When I get out, shut the door, and try to lock it by touching the door (which is a cheap implementation v. my old 16 civic) it will not lock, won't even lock by clicking the button on the fob. It will lock after about 10 seconds of waiting and then trying again, not a long time to wait but annoying when I'm use to touching the handle and walking away.

Of course I have noted it with my local dealer, and of course it never happens there (I think since they have a heated garage). Also, they refuse to watch the videos I have of the problem.

I was curious if anyone else has noticed this problem and if anyone has a solution.

I would push until they watched the video. And possibly go to another dealer and see what they say. Makes no sense they would not watch a video of the issue. Keep complaining, they will eventually get tired of you and fixing it will be easier than dealing with a customer pestering them consistently. Personally, I would email and call the Service Manager every time it happened, and I would send the video to them via email. Squeaky wheel....remember?

Can you reproduce it or does it occur randomly?

Below 40f, I should have been more specific

is there anything that is plugged into the power outlet? I've seen the accessory circuit stay on because the internal batteries or capacitors back feed the power outlet.

I have the same issue with my 2020 DC Sport. I have never taken it to the dealer, it really doesn't bother me. And yes, it happens more when it is cold outside, below 40*F, I live in New England. I do know that when it does happen, and I stand and wait about 5 minutes it will work just fine. I wonder if it is a timing thing when you get out of the truck and combined with the cold. Not sure, it will be interesting to see what happens when it gets warm out. I didn't notice it during the summer.

SOOOOO after talking to a friend who is an electrical engineer, he asked "do you have LED cargo lights?", then it dawned on me. My cheap Chinese LED cargo lights which are producing EMI, we actually had a similar problem at my old job (long boring story). I turned off the cargo lights and everything works flawlessly and a hell of a lot better! My next task is to either shield the components somehow or find new LEDs, maybe VLED or GTR.

It is just crazy what some LED lights can do to a later model Tundra. I have read about so many seemingly random and odd issues ending up being related to a LED bulb installed somewhere. Glad you got it figured out.
