Welcome from SoMD. Sorry about losing your Grandfather. That Truck is a Gem. I have a 2001 Taco which was passed along back in 2016. Love that little 2 seater and hope to see my 14 year old Son driving it someday.

Sweet! I live in the “Windy City” aka Fontana  Hopefully when things get closer to normal we can get the meets/ trail runs going again.

Finding a clean GD body is getting HARD to do.. and personally my favorite body code (2002-07). I actually "run" a weekly Subaru meet.. well not since Covid started lol. We would meet once a week. Ive been going to them for about 13 years and "running" them for about 10.

    The STi was A BLAST.

Car made over 400 trq to the wheels on E85. I had it registered to my aunt/uncles in Nevada so I didnt have to worry about Cali smog/tint. But in doing so, I had to have it on it's on NV insurance policy - so no multi car discounts. I was paying about $2k a year for it to sit in the garage, driving it 2-3k miles a year... just didnt make sense to keep it.

How long have you been gone? Flee the state like most everyone else is doing right now? lol

Thank you all! Ive done A LOT.. like a lot to the Trek over the last 3 years lol. Still continue to tinker and upgrade things, just on a much slower pace now.
I got the car with 4 or 5 miles on it.. didnt even go through the entire first tank of gas before I put the lift and wheels/tires on it lol.

Like I mentioned in my first post, I keep build journals of all my cars. I update the first post each time I add/tweak something. This is everything on the trek: https://www.subaruxvforum.com/threads/chickens-crosstrek.141530/

My buddy has a local DIY wrenching YT channel. We got an agreement with the company (ADF) who made the lift. They gave me a slight discount on the kit, my buddy helped me install and filmed it and he makes revenue on the views... win win win for everyone lol. Its now one of his highest viewed videos.

Build thread from the STi as well: https://www.i-club.com/forums/ongoing-projects-31/chickens-new-beater-261203/

I've been gone for almost 23 years. Haven't missed it nor the traffic or crowds. Damn time flies!

Know what you mean, sometimes priorities change. I almost got rid of mine at one point. It's a bugeye, got it in 2005, a few years ago replaced the engine to V7 EJ207. The clear coat is all faded, but still love it.

That is a nice looking Crosstrek.

I bought my bugeye in 07 and sold it in 2014.
I did a hybrid swap with the STi short block and 04 wrx heads as they were less prone to cracking around the spark plug holes like the 02/03 were.

Welcome from the southeast. Nice cars you’ve had. When my son got his first job out of college, he bought a new WRX. That was a fun car to drive. I can only imagine what an STI is like..
