Trading in ‘15 Tacoma for ‘21 Tundra, solid choice?..

Hey All, I’m trading in my beloved 2015 Tacoma lots of
Mods including 3”lift 33”duratracs ect..going to be hard to let go of her lol but THINK I’m making a solid choice in a full size bad ass cement grey crew cab. Looks like the MPG will be slightly worse but a way bigger tank so not overly concerned. Anyone else made the upgrade from Tacoma-Tundra? cheers!...pictures soon

 

I recently made the change from Taco to Tundra. You would be better off selling the Tacoma vs. trade in, if it works for your budget when buying the Tundra. It should be easy. I sold my 2010 in 2 days for $25k. Welcome to the Tundra side, where everything costs more and is harder to get... But just as much fun.

I just upgraded from my 04 Tacoma Xtra Cab to an 07 DCLB Tundra. The size difference is huge for me, maybe not as much for you, but the extra room inside is definitely a plus.

I traded in my 2019 Tacoma DCLB SR5 for a 2020 Tundra DC SR5 TRD OR. Huge different in the driving experience. Absolutely worth the money to me.

The only thing you lose going from Taco to Tundra is the tight trail ability. Everything else should be an upgrade based on what I've read on here.

 

I had a 2012 Tacoma (TRD Sport) that I really liked...great truck but it had a bouncy ride. Traded that in for a 4Runner and then I bought the Tundra. It’s a huge improvement over that generation of Tacoma. The stock ride is of the Tundra is a night/day improvement over the Tacoma.

If you go off road the Tacoma is a better choice and if mpg’s are a big concern for you. In my Tacoma I averaged about 20 mpg’s and in my Tundra I average 17.

IMHO the Tundra (SR5 TRD Offroad)is a much more comfortable than the 5th gen 4Runner, Tacoma, and even the Highlander. My wife makes me take my truck everywhere. That was never the case with the 4Runner or Tacoma especially after I changed the suspension. I am truly impressed with its comfort, power, and maneuverability for being such a large vehicle.

Went to the dealer last weekend for a parts run. Nicely equipped Tundra was priced only $3k more than a pretty well equipped Taco. $47k vs $50k. Seems like a lot more truck for the $3k. Welcome from West Texas.

Well I came from a 4th Gen 4runner, which I still have and son is driving, but the comfort, space and towing ability of the Tundra vs 4Runner is awesome! I love the 4runner, best vehicle I have owned, but it feels cramped and uncomfortable compared to my Tundra. So yes, you will love the Tundra.

I started in a Tundra back in 2009 after driving 2WD Chevy 1500's for work, so I can't compare.

Any recommendations on a quality 3/2 levelling kit?, going to stick with just a levelling over the full suspension lift I think as I won’t be crawling. Will be looking to put on some 275/70r18 boots as well so any recommendations on those would be awesome!. Thanks again cheers!
