Any ideas on how to blackout chrome on grill surround and hood bulge on a 2018 Tundra? I don't really want to spend $800-1000 for it. Thanks, Ray

I'm hearing Plasti-dip is legit. Going to probably use it on my chrome bumper ends.

There are lots of threads on the forum about it, but in addition to plati-dip, there is a vendor of BumperShellz that will have covers for the grill surround and hood bulge available in the near future.

I put a 2014 grill (factory black) into my 2017 that had the factory chrome. Still have the chrome surround though. Watching to replace it with a Super White surround including the bulge at the top.

Paint, Bed Liner, Buy New, Buy Used, Wrap, Wait for BumperShellz overlay to be released, search.

I'm pretty sure others have blacked out their grilles. ;)

I went DIY project, donor surround/bulge, spray bed liner, reused my insert, then Bumpershellz caps

Thanks everyone. I think I'll wait and see what BumperShellz comes out with. I have their bumper corner covers that I haven't installed yet due to cold wet weather but they look like they will fit good.

I’m in the same boat @Ray Christensen! I have the same year with the same color and the same chrome. Let me know if you find something.

Check Amazon/ebay/craigslist. Black is a common color so you can get lucky. Mcautoparts only charges $30 more to add in the grille surround (when buying the pro insert), maybe they will sell you just the surround if you call?
