As mentioned in my new member intro, I inherited this truck from my grandfather who was the original owner.

2002 SR5 4x4 with Access Cab and just shy of 78,000 miles.

Garage kept the vast majority of it's life. Unfortunately for it, it will be living outside for the time being. Got plans to build some sheds and an RV cover on our side yard this year, so it should be out of the sun by years end.

Ill keep this thread updated as things come/go (if we're allowed to edit posts here - some forums don't..).

    Free mods are free.

Removed the paint matched OEM running boards.
Was pretty surprised at the minimal hardware keeping these on.

Each side had two 13mm nuts and one 13mm bolt going to three hanging brackets off the cab. Also at each of the three brackets, there were two 10mm self tapping screws into the cab (in total 6 10mm self tapping screws, two 13mm nuts, and one 13mm bolt on each running board).

I simply just put all the hardware back in and cinched it all down. If I ever need/want to put the boards back on, hardware is not lost and it plugs up the holes.

Got a cheapo LED kit for the interior lights and some exterior.
Will probably upgrade to Diode Dynamics in the future, but for now, these will work especially some of the original bulbs had burnt out.

    kit I got: https://amzn.to/3jhgPoc

    Got the windows tinted.
    Back 3 are 5%
    Front 2 are 35%
windshield is like 65% UV with a 5% sun strip across the top.

Figured I get all my cars tinted, and this should help the interior stay a bit cooler while it sits in the sun.

Next simple "mod" arrived in the mail. Got some rain visors to put on. Since the car is living outside for the time being, figured tint and putting these on so I can leave the windows cracked will help venting heat out of the truck. For $40, fitment and quality are a 7 out of 10. The specific ones I got: https://amzn.to/2Ml0CT2

They are getting rare.. but last year a local off-road shop installed a lift kit on a Red 02 Tundy with only 40,000 miles!

Dropped the Tundy off at the local dealer yesterday to get all the maint done and picked it up today.

    Mileage - 78,035
    What was done:
-left rear axle seal and O ring replaced
    -brake fluid exchange
-90k service (timing belt, drive belts, water pump, coolant, engine oil, etc)
-new windshield wiper nozzles (they were plugged up) and new wiper blades

Things they noted will/should be done soon that I opted to not take care of right now.
-both front CV boots need to be replaced
-power steering pump is leaking and rec to be replaced
-new tires (they're from 2008 lol)
    -alignment

Figure ill be doing wheels and tires fairly soon, h00ning the old rotting ones for the time being. Might do a slight lift at the same time or soon after. Will more than likely do the CV boots then, will for sure do an alignment at the same time.

Ya suppper low miles. Thing is awesome.
I still would want to replace anything that’s rubber, since rubber still dies with age. Which, looks like that is indeed what you are doing?

    Any big plans?

Yea slowly replace any rotting hoses n such!
No major plans for it as it's already a 3rd car for us. I could see in 5+ years having front and rear bumpers, but nowhere near a priority right now haha.

Wheels and new lug nuts are ordered.

Almost got a lightly used set of the tires I want, in the size I want, for cheap.. but just missed out.

Could be you just need new clamps on all your Power Steering Lines. My clamps gave up the ghost a few years ago and looked like maybe PS Pump Problems, but cleaned her up and installed Stainless Snake Clamps. Leaks stopped. PS Pump saved as no problems.

Lug nuts have arrived. If shipping is accurate, wheels should be here Friday.
Still looking around for tires. Would like to get a set of KO2, ive got these on my Crosstrek with about 48,000 miles on them, and they have been fantastic.

    Yesterday was stereo upgrade day.

Installed a JVC KW-M560BT. Now have BT audio and Android Auto/Apple Car Play.
Didnt install a backup cam at this point, but would be easy enough in the future, would just have to run the wire in.

Also bought this off Amazon: https://amzn.to/3xySBwq to replace one of the cig/power outlets near the passenger footwell. I plugged this in for the data connection on the rear of the JVC unit.

Went full crazy with the wire harness. Just used wire nuts to hold everything together to test install and make sure everything was working.

Then soldered each connection, and heat shrink over each one.

My ebay-aholic friend found them for CHEAP! They were listed as “BRAND NEW SHOWROOM DISPLAYS. MINOR SCUFFS ONLY” but I was slightly hesitant. I asked for pics but the office person didnt have access to the warehouse they were stored in. Decided that they are truck wheels after all and will be getting scratched up anyways, so I pulled the trigger. Got them and they literally look BRAND NEW, not a single scuff or scratch on any of them. So felt pretty good since I got them for over $300 off the new msrp :)

    Tires soon to come!

    Tires on :)
Picked them up barely used. Came on 4runner rims too. So now ill either keep the Tundy OEM or these 4runner wheels for my trailer - but get new tires for them regardless.

Ill throw em on the truck along with the new lug nuts on my lunch break today - perks of working from home haha.
