Thanks for that Roger. Haven't had anyone link onto my build in awhile, but guess some do. Appreciate the comment.

WOW guys thanks for all the kind words. I take a lot of pride in designing and building my stuff. Guess that goes with my job, and home projects too. Have multiple other mods going right now and will post more when I get to that point. I think a lot of my truck mod motivation comes from all the great rides on this forum. Thanks to all that post and comment........

The flip up compressor mount is genius but that "missile lock" switch is the cherry.

Made a run out to Superstition Mountains, CA. Got out to the camp sight Friday about 10:30AM and within half an hour we had a 2 hour air show above and around us. Fighter planes buzzing over our camp maybe 300 feet overhead. There is a base just miles away in El Centro,CA and they use these mtns as practice runs. Beauty of a weekend 78-83 degrees.

Making a stop at the market for some food......

I have a fetish with things being symmetrical, so I had to change the rear bumper tow plug location. I am going to build a bracket and tuck it up underneath out of sight. I came up with a solution for the existing hole in the bumper. Enlarge the opening to accept a oval, rubber mount LED b-up light. Same both sides to keep things symmetrical.

    Built a plywood jig first.
    DSCN3609.jpg

    DSCN3612.jpg

Clamped it to the bumper to run the 2-1/2" hole saw.

After: still waiting on the LEDs.

1-1/2 hours start to finish. More to come........

Thanks much. Will try to get some more pics from the front end. The TRD Pro shock is a very good looking shock with that built-in reservoir. Not counting they perform very well too. Just put these on so this desert season will show the real performance.

Old Man Emu suspension. Brute Force Fab front bumper, rear dual high clearance rear bumper, sliders and headache rack.
New to this forum and found this thread....very cool truck. Love your craftsmanship.

We have a Limited that we are considering putting the TRD suspension on as well. Nice to see some photos.

Also really love that folding aircompressor tray. We are going to put ARB lockers on ours and looking for space for that same aircompressor. Was thinking on the driver side, near the firewall ontop of that fuse box, but concerned about access below the aircompressor. Never thought of a folding platform. Genius.

Do you have any other photos or plans you could share of that mod?

Welcome to the Forum. Glad you found my build thread, as this forum in general has a lot of great builds and mods. I don't have any more real details on the compressor mod other than what is shown and spoken. Feel free to click on my other mods in my signature and would love your thoughts. Please post pics of your rig if you haven't done so yet...

Purchased some 1-3/4" non-interlocking tube connectors from a local business today. Have another 1-3/4" .090 wall DOM tube structure under construction. These connectors are available in both interlocking and non-interlocking. The interlocking are stronger, but my application denies me from using that model. More details and photos to follow.

Did a little fab work on Saturday. This is the beginning of the next phase of the safari top structure. Sometimes with the saw cutting and grinding I try to be gracious to the neighbors in the complex, so I load tools and steel in the truck and go down to work that is a commercial bldg and has a good work bench. Because I like to not only tow our 8,000lb travel trailer to the desert, I also like to off-road the truck and decided to tie the safari top structure down to the 6) bed points.

Tools and material in the truck ready to go:
    DSCN3654.jpg

Bought the 1-3/4" .090 DOM tubing from Competitive Metals, made a pattern with cpvc and had a local shop do some bends for me :
    DSCN3656.jpg
    DSCN3657.jpg
    DSCN3658.jpg
Chop saw in action in the parking lot at work :
    DSCN3660.jpg
Tube notcher in action clamped to the work bench :
    DSCN3662.jpg
    DSCN3661.jpg
What was so time consuming on this part was the fact the bed bolts are not in-line and parallel with each other, so I had to notch the stand-offs off-center of the 1-3/4" tubing. Luckily my tube notcher is adjustable just for that reason.

    DSCN3664.jpg

    DSCN3665.jpg

Long ways to go, but I am basically creating a lower bed cage that will tie into the upper cage structure that in turn all ties to the six large bolts that tie the bed to the frame. Will be a little break in the mod as we are camping this Thursday PM through Monday AM.

Did more cutting, grinding, hole sawing and tube nothing this weekend to the lower bed cage. Did some small tack welds with my flux-cored wire feed to hold everything in place. I found a local welder on CL and had him finish up the mig and tig work. Great guy and was at his shop on Labor Day. ( lucky me ).:) I added in a cross member to use as a spare tire mount. More fab stuff to do to finish it off.
